JOB SUMMARY

As process engineer you will be part of the butter team and work close with high skilled colleagues from all over the world within butter as well as other small skids applications. The butter technology is an important part of our business and has been steadily growing throughout the years. You will be based in Silkeborg, and as process engineer focus on execution of butter projects. In executing the projects, the process engineer is responsible for specification and calculations of components and performing P&ID and item lists. The process engineer will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle – from sales handover to final commissioning and handover of the plant. In addition, the role includes visiting customer sites to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize the performance of existing butter processing plants as well as training operators
Once assigned our Process Engineers follow a project during the whole execution and stay supportive to other functions such as Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Documentation, Supply Chain, Assembly, Commissioning, Project Management, Aftermarket and more

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for delivering the engineering package to achieve the technical requirements within respect of scope, schedule & the budget in accordance with internal procedures (IDEF). You ensure the support of all the functions during project lifecycle. You will work in close collaboration with the Project Manager & the Lead Engineer in a strong team of specialists
Key elements of the position:
  • Solution Design and construction of process within butter technologies, in line with standard engineering practices, references and customer requirements
  • Perform package of P&ID and item list, ensuring plant are coherent and all interfaces defined. Capture system design in comprehensive P&ID’s and process calculations
  • Selection and sizing of the components of the plant
  • Support the Mechanical Engineers on the development of the layout and the 3D modelling
  • Ensure process engineering deliverables are provided to all functions on quality and on time
  • Maintain the engineering documents up to date during the whole life of the project
  • Conduct design reviews
  • Timely and accurate communication to the project stakeholders, mainly to the Project Manager and the Lead Engineer during the whole life of the project supporting the project remains on schedule and on cost
  • Lead commissioning, testing and start-up of butter processing equipment and systems
  • Visit customer sites to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance of existing butter processing plants and equipment
  • Provide training and handover documentation to customers
  • 50-80 travel days per year shall be expected

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge and understanding of process technology and thermodynamics. It will be an advantage with experience in processing applications.
  • Knowledge of process calculation and equipment sizing for dairy, industrial or chemical applications
  • Experience in construction of plants
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Good communication skills expressed in both wording and writing eg. writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and effectively present information and support groups of managers, clients, customers.
  • Ability to be service minded, systematic, independent, and flexible
  • Team player and naturally build strong relationships with colleagues both locally, remotely and across multiple sites and across several functions, but also the ability to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize and stay focused at detail, structured and persistent

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Engineering degree or similar, previous process and project execution experience
  • Experience within the food & beverage or pharmaceutical businesses would be an advantage
  • Several years’ experience working in team of high Engineering focus would be an advantage
  • User level working in AutoCad, Inventor and Autodesk VAULT would be an advantage
  • Experience in using MS - Office and ERP tools

Base salary: 564,600 to 717,000 DOE
