Software Developer
Norlys Energy Trading A/S
Do you enjoy solving problems where understanding the business is just as important as writing the code? Are you the kind of developer who wants to challenge existing solutions, understand the bigger picture and influence how systems evolve over time?
If so, you might be the Software Developer we're looking for in Commercial Solutions Development at Norlys Energy Trading.
The team
Commercial Solutions Development builds and operates the software products at the core of our Client Solutions business. We work closely with stakeholders across the organization, both business specialists and software developers, and build systems where reliability, data consistency, and maintainability are essential.
We value a strong engineering mindset and enforce a collaborative work environment where we share knowledge openly, challenge ideas constructively, and work together to build robust software that supports our business.
The role
You'll help develop and maintain business-critical software services while contributing to the future direction of our platform.
We work in a complex domain where curiosity matters. The developers who create the most value are the ones who take the time to understand both the business challenge and the technical solution.
You will work with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and database-intensive applications where availability, consistency, and performance matter every day.
Key responsibilities
- Build and own cloud-based software services and business-critical functionality from design through deployment and operations.
- Design, implement, and improve distributed systems and event-driven solutions in a microservice environment with focus in clean system boundaries.
- Proactively monitor and optimize system performance to meet availability- and security requirements with structured observability and a data-driven approach.
- Translate complex business requirements into well-structured, scalable and maintainable software designs.
- Shape the technical direction of the platform, contributing meaningfully to architectural decisions and long-term engineering strategy.
- Explore and drive the adoption of AI in development processes and workflows to deliver real engineering value.
You'll enjoy this role if you're naturally curious and get energy from understanding how things fit together – from the software platform we build, to the business value it adds. The people who thrive here are the ones who ask questions, share ideas, and continuously look for better ways of solving problems.
