Would you like to apply Artificial Intelligence where it creates real-world impact in manufacturing?

Hartmann is looking for an AI Engineer to help accelerate the adoption of AI, machine learning, and automation across our global organization. This role will play a key part in transforming how we optimize manufacturing performance, operational processes, and data-driven decision-making through practical AI solutions.

You will join Hartmann’s Data, Analytics & AI team and become part of a growing digital transformation agenda where AI is expected to become a key enabler of operational excellence, process improvement, and future competitiveness.

It a experimentation role and a hands-on engineering position for someone who wants to develop, deploy, and scale AI solutions that create measurable business value in real operational environments.

The Role

As AI Engineer, you will become part of Hartmann’s Data, Analytics & AI team, reporting to the Head of Data, Analytics & AI, Jan Boldt.

You will work closely with stakeholders across Production, Digital Manufacturing, Global Process Excellence, Enterprise Systems, and Business Functions to identify opportunities where AI can simplify work, improve process quality, reduce manual effort, and create measurable business outcomes.

Your primary focus will be on manufacturing and operational excellence, helping Hartmann leverage AI, machine learning and automation to improve production performance, quality, process stability, waste reduction and operational decision-making across our factories.

While the role will also contribute to forecasting, planning and commercial analytics initiatives, the core mission is to unlock value from production and operational data and turn AI into a practical capability within Hartmann’s manufacturing environment.

Beyond developing solutions, you will play a key role in helping colleagues across the organization understand, adopt and utilize AI effectively. Success in this role will therefore not only be measured by the solutions you build, but also by your ability to increase AI awareness, capability and confidence throughout the business.

  • Drive AI adoption through training, workshops, and hands-on support for business users
  • Ensure AI solutions are reliable, secure, explainable, and aligned with responsible AI principles
  • Contribute to the development of Hartmann’s AI governance, standards, and best practices

We Imagine You Bring

  • Understanding of machine learning, data engineering, APIs, and cloud-based AI services
  • Experience translating business challenges into practical technology solutions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage non-technical stakeholders
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to move from prototype to production deployment

It is considered an advantage if you also have experience with:

  • Manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Production data and operational analytics
  • Process improvement and operational excellence initiatives
  • Predictive maintenance and process optimization
  • Databricks and modern cloud data platforms
  • Industrial IoT and Digital Manufacturing environments

Personal Profile

You are curious, innovative, and motivated by turning emerging technologies into practical business value.

You enjoy working close to operations and business stakeholders and are energized by solving real-world problems rather than developing technology for its own sake.

You combine strong technical capabilities with a pragmatic mindset and can explain AI opportunities, limitations, and risks in a way that others understand and trust.

You are collaborative, proactive, and comfortable driving initiatives forward in a global organization with diverse stakeholders.
