Senior Engineer (Embedded systems test automation)

In this role, you will play a key role in advancing our quality engineering capabilities, working closely with the Operations Quality team and Engineering Capabilities within the Creative Play Lab. You will drive the technical direction and continuous optimization of automated test systems, enabling rapid, reliable releases and scalable solutions across embedded systems, data pipelines, and mobile applications. A critical focus will be managing the increasing complexity driven by product variants, ensuring robust, future-proof test coverage.
Responsibilities

Define, own and drive the technical QA architecture to enable scalable, efficient collaboration across software development and business stakeholders.

Architect, implement the strategy and evolution of test automation, including frameworks, tooling, and implementation to ensure high coverage and reliability.

Partner with software development teams and Play Product Management to align test coverage with real-world usage and risk areas.

Establish and embed CI/CD and modern quality engineering practices across teams, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders.

Define, implement, and operationalize quality metrics and KPIs to support data-driven decision-making internally and externally.

Analyze defect trends and customer-reported issues, establish systems to clearly visualize trends where needed, to identify root causes and proactively address coverage gaps.

Drive cross-functional alignment on quality standards, processes, and best practices to ensure consistency across products and teams.
Responsibilities

Strong programming experience in multiple languages, with Python as a core competency.

Proven expertise in test automation for embedded systems, including hardware-in-the-loop and system-level validation.

Demonstrated ability to define and scale test strategies and processes, enabling product expansion and increasing SKU complexity without compromising quality or cycle time.

Track record of driving test transformation initiatives, significantly improving test effectiveness, coverage, and efficiency.

Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated testing, ensuring fast, reliable feedback loops within development workflows.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to guide teams through expertise and architectural direction on quality strategy and initiatives.

Experience working with complex system architectures, including integration across software, hardware, and data platforms.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and address quality gaps proactively.
Nice to have

ISTQB certification or similar formal training in software testing is an advantage.

Experience working in distributed and international teams, including remote test setups and collaboration across time zones.

Previous experience in roles such as Project QA, Technical Lead, with exposure to cross-functional delivery.

Experience mentoring and coaching engineers, supporting growth and adoption of best practices in test automation.

Demonstrated ability to drive improvements in testing practices and contribute to organizational change initiatives.
