Export Coordinator – Making International Orders Run Smoothly
ABENA
You enjoy keeping things on track from start to finish and like working closely with different teams. Do you also want some influence over how your work is done, help improve daily processes, and be part of making things run smoother over time?
If that sounds like you, you might feel right at home as an Export Coordinator at ABENA.
This role is a temporary maternity cover, with a start date as soon as possible and running until the end of March 2027.
In ABENA’s International Customer Service (ICS), you’ll have a varied and busy workday. Every year, we handle around 13,000 export orders together with our international subsidiaries and wholesalers around the world.
As an Export Coordinator, you will be the person who keeps an eye on the full order process for our export customers – from when the order comes in until the goods are shipped. You make sure everything works logistically, that the warehouse has what it needs, and that customers are informed if anything changes.
You will work with many people, both inside and outside the company, and act as the link between sales, production, purchasing, warehouse, transport partners, and shipping.
We work in an international market that changes all the time. What worked yesterday might not work today. That’s why it’s important that you take responsibility, stay motivated, and keep going even when things get complicated.
Your tasks will include:
- Handling export orders by truck and general cargo to many parts of the world
- Daily communication with customers
- Calculating volumes for different transport units
- Booking transport
- Handling claims and complaints
If you are good at staying organised, getting tasks finished, and giving customers friendly and helpful service while finding the best solution together, you are well on your way to doing well in this job.
What we’re looking for:
Your background is likely within order handling – for example as an export assistant, freight forwarder, or similar. We also hope that you:
- Have experience with international shipments (a plus, but not a must – motivation to learn is more important)
- Are comfortable using Excel and Microsoft programs
- Have experience with ERP systems such as Axapta and/or SAP (an advantage)
- Like working in a structured way and appreciate clear written procedures
- Are thorough, pay attention to details, and keep a good overview
- Communicate positively with colleagues and partners
- Speak and write Danish and English; German or other languages are a plus
Everyday conversations in the team are mostly in Danish, while a large part of our communication with customers and partners is in English. So it’s important that you’re comfortable using English in both writing and conversation.
You meet customers in a professional and positive way and focus on finding solutions. With your colleagues, you are open, friendly, have a sense of humour, and are happy to help when needed.
Your team and everyday life at ABENA
ICS offers a fast‑paced and interesting workday. In ABENA International, you’ll join around 40 dedicated and skilled colleagues who are ready to welcome you to the team.
Your team consists of nine colleagues split into two smaller teams working with sea and road transport. You will join the road transport team. We support each other and take shared responsibility when someone is away.
At ABENA, we believe work should be enjoyable, so we value good teamwork and having a laugh together.
Your leader as Export Coordinator will be Department Manager ICS, Mette Nielsen, who says:
“As a leader, I focus on trust and respect and give my employees space to grow and take ownership of their tasks and development. I am approachable and involved, and I care about creating a safe work environment where people feel heard and included. When needed, I take part in daily operations to support the team and stay close to everyday work. You can count on me to support you – both when things go well and when they’re challenging. We build on honesty.”
We look forward to hearing from you
If you’re interested in the position, please send your application and CV. You may submit your application in either Danish or English.
We review applications as we receive them and will close the process once we’ve found our new colleague.
