Meet your future team

You will join the Radical Innovation and New Business Development team, a small, highly skilled and entrepreneurial unit working at the frontier of future growth for the VELUX Group. The team operates as a venture-building environment, combining strategic rigour with hands-on execution to explore, validate and launch new business opportunities beyond the core portfolio.

The team works closely with senior leadership, Sales, R&D, Digital, Finance and external partners. Collaboration is characterised by high trust, strong ownership and a bias towards action and learning. As a Senior Business Developer, you will play a central role in shaping and progressing key innovation projects. Over time, you may step into a Venture Lead role as opportunities mature towards launch and scale.

What We Offer

In this role, you will take on significant responsibility, gain exposure to senior stakeholders and have the opportunity to influence the long-term growth agenda of the VELUX Group. You will work on strategically important innovation projects where commercial validation, speed and learning are critical.

More specifically, your tasks will be to:

  • Lead key innovation projects end-to-end, taking ownership of problem framing, work planning, stakeholder alignment and delivery of tangible commercial outputs.
  • Conduct rigorous market and competitive analyses using a hypothesis-driven approach to identify key uncertainties, quickly build a robust fact base and shape clear strategic recommendations.
  • Develop, stress-test and validate business cases, including market sizing, value pool logic, unit economics, pricing hypotheses and scenario-based financial modelling to support investment decisions.
  • Design and drive commercial validation activities, including pilot design, customer testing and partner discussions, ensuring projects progress through evidence-based decisions and clearly defined learning milestones.
  • Develop and lead go-to-market strategies for selected opportunities, driving pilots, external partnerships and product launches in close collaboration with Sales and key stakeholders.
  • Provide indirect leadership across cross-functional teams and external partners, ensuring clear ownership, high-quality outputs and strong momentum towards commercial outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders through structured, executive-ready presentations, including recommendations, trade-offs and clear decision asks.

What You Will Bring

You bring a strong combination of strategic thinking, analytical depth and execution capability, together with the ability to navigate uncertainty and influence senior stakeholders.

Moreover, we expect that you:

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Business, Economics or a related field.
  • Have experience from a management consulting firm or an equivalent in-house strategy, venture building or corporate development role, with clear delivery expectations and a well-developed consulting-style toolkit.
  • Have a proven track record of moving initiatives from ambiguous early stages to tangible commercial outcomes, such as pilots, partnerships, launch decisions or measurable pipeline or revenue.
  • Demonstrate strong structured problem-solving capabilities, including hypothesis-driven work, MECE structuring, issue trees and clear synthesis, supported by strong analytical skills and data interpretation.
  • Possess commercial acumen, including experience with market sizing, competitive strategy, pricing and value capture, unit economics and business case development.
  • Are able to manage stakeholders effectively and lead cross-functional teams through influence rather than formal authority.
