SCADA Specialist – Innovative Solutions

As a SCADA Specialist in Eurowind Energy A/S, you will play a key role in integrating data and ensuring operational control of green energy production sites across our multi-site SCADA systems. You will be central to optimizing our SCADA landscape, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient operation of our renewable energy assets - with a strong focus on maintaining full control of our parks, enabling reliable monitoring, management, and timely response across all sites.
You will be part of our SCADA Operations functional area. The role combines hands-on technical work with collaboration, knowledge sharing, and system ownership.
Main responsibilities:
Implementation and Innovation
- System Integration: Extract and control data from third-party systems via industrial protocols, APIs/interfaces and integrate energy parks located in different countries into multi-site/-brand SCADA systems to enhance monitoring, decision-making and trading.
- Automation & Efficiency: Develop automation scripts and tools utilizing AI and high-level programming languages - such as Python, Java, C# — to replace manual processes, minimize errors, and boost overall system efficiency.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance: Collaborate on designing and implementing robust solutions ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Use tools like Zabbix and/or Grafana to track system performance and quickly identify errors.
Troubleshooting
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve issues related to data collection, monitoring and control of devices, ensuring no challenge goes unsolved.
- Collaboration with Vendors: Communicate and coordinate with external SCADA suppliers and service providers to test and implement fixes, ensuring seamless operational continuity.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct regular audits, update system configurations, and suggest improvements to keep our systems ahead of the curve.
Leading & Educating
- User Support & Training: Provide training and ongoing support to SCADA system users, ensuring everyone can harness the full potential of our technology.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations and procedures and share your insights and success stories with the team
Your professional background
- Degree in engineering (electrical, automation, mechanical, or similar) or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience with configuration, programming, and testing of SCADA systems; experience from wind parks and German energy parks onsite SCADA systems is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, C# or other high-level programming languages, with a knack for developing innovative solutions.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g. OPC UA, IEC 104, Modbus), network architecture, and a solid understanding of network architecture and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with or strong interest in renewable energy technologies.
- Fluent in English; German and/or Danish is an advantage.
- Experience with German trader and grid provider regulations is an advantage.
