Senior OT Operations Specialist
Eurowind Energy
As Eurowind Energy continues to grow its global portfolio of wind, solar and BESS assets, reliable and standardised OT operations are key to keeping production running and availability high. We are therefore looking for a senior OT operations specialist who is motivated by ownership and operational excellence and who wants to play a key role in shaping how OT operations work in practice across our global portfolio.
Your role – own and elevate OT Operations globally
This is a senior specialist role with broad influence across Eurowind Energy’s global portfolio of wind, solar and BESS assets. You will serve as the global Subject Matter Expert (SME) for OT Operations, providing technical leadership, operational guidance and authoritative decision support on OT operational risks, priorities and performance across the organisation.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Driving and continuously improving OT operational performance across the global portfolio, with a strong focus on maximising availability and minimising lost production
- Establishing, maintaining and aligning OT operational procedures, runbooks and standards across regions, asset types and functions
- Leading the implementation of operational improvements and standardisation initiatives across the global OT estate
- Defining and applying principles for OT operational architecture and design (e.g. SCADA, OT networks, field equipment and controllers), including segmentation and reliable system integration
- Owning firmware lifecycle management across the OT estate, including qualification, deployment planning, version control and rollback strategies
- Owning backup and recovery practices for OT systems and components, ensuring verified restorability and regularly tested procedures
- Driving global alignment and continuous improvement of OT operational maturity and standardised OT setups across the fleet
Key tasks – what you will work with in practice
In addition to owning global OT operational standards and direction, you will be actively involved in the practical execution and continuous improvement of OT operations across the portfolio.
Your key tasks include:
- Ensuring integration of OT operational requirements into project phases (EPC), from design through commissioning and handover to operations
- Guiding and supporting operational deployments across wind, solar and BESS assets
- Contributing to OT operational architecture and design principles, including segmentation strategies and reliable communication
- Managing firmware across the OT estate – evaluating releases, planning rollouts, performing controlled deployments and maintaining rollback paths
- Operating and verifying backup and recovery regimes for OT components (SCADA servers, PLCs, controllers, network equipment, HMI)
- Maintaining oversight of OT asset inventory, system visibility and overall operational posture
- Tracking OT-related lost production and driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions together with asset owners and vendors
- Standardising OT setups across the global fleet and continuously raising operational maturity
- Staying current on industrial protocols, communication patterns and how OT equipment is integrated across the OT stack
Stakeholder collaboration
The role requires close collaboration across OT, IT, EPC and Asset Management functions to ensure consistent OT operational practices and maturity across regions and technologies. You will act as a trusted subject matter expert for OT operations across wind, solar and BESS, advising stakeholders – including senior leadership – on operational risks affecting availability, production and operational resilience.
Your profile – what we are looking for
We are looking for a senior, hands-on OT operations profile with the ability to set direction and make complex environments work in practice.
Ideally, you bring:
- Several years of hands-on experience within OT operations, industrial automation, or similar operational roles (energy/renewables is an advantage)
- Educational background within engineering, industrial automation, IT, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong understanding of OT/ICS systems (SCADA, PLCs, controllers, HMIs, industrial networks)
- Solid knowledge of industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, IEC 61850, DNP3, MQTT) and how OT equipment communicates across the stack
- Proven experience with firmware lifecycle management and with backup/recovery of OT components and verification of restorability
- Experience driving standardization and continuous improvement across distributed OT assets
- Knowledge of IEC 62443 and understanding of NIS2 requirements in a European context is also considered an advantage but not mandatory
How you work
You bring a hands-on, pragmatic mindset with a strong bias for action, uptime and operational stability. You have strong analytical skills and are comfortable navigating complex, distributed OT environments, turning complexity into clear and actionable operational guidance.
You communicate confidently and constructively across both technical teams and senior stakeholders, and you are able to challenge assumptions and decisions in a professional, solution-oriented manner. Collaboration comes naturally to you, and you thrive in global, cross-functional environments where alignment across organisational and geographical boundaries is key.
You are self-driven and take ownership in a developing environment, with a curious and proactive mindset and a continuous focus on standardisation, improvement and raising operational maturity.
What we offer
You will join a growing OT area in a fast-moving renewable energy company, where OT reliability and operational scalability are critical to our ability to deliver green power. You will have a high level of influence, broad stakeholder exposure, and the opportunity to set global standards that impact real assets.
Renewable energy is our future. And so are our people!
At Eurowind Energy we do our best to create a culture where everyone is valued and feels at home. You will notice this in your everyday work life, where you have the freedom to speak up and where your voice means something to us. We know that when you grow, we grow. Therefore, we strive to support you in what you believe is right and in your personal and professional development. We offer you an exciting job in an energetic and international environment. And we promise you: the wind is never standing still.
Developing, operating and managing wind and solar parks is not just pure business for us. It is a way to view the world. And with this worldview comes a genuine ambition to be one of the leading developers in Europe. Because creating a future run entirely on green energy matters to us.
We manage our own portfolio of projects and at the same time, we perform technical and financial management of projects. We have throughout many years experienced sustained economic growth in the number of developed projects and companies in management. And we continue to expect this. Simply because it is in our nature to keep developing – projects, companies and our people.
