And This Is Where You Come In

We are looking for a Head of Accounting & Controlling that can lead a stellar Accounting & Controlling team and elevate the team to the next level, as our current Head of Accounting & Controlling is embarking on an exciting new journey. The role has a global responsibility and will be integral in supporting Agreena on its continued growth journey. The right candidate is a strong people leader with a background in accounting and a proven track record from a similar leadership role.

The Accounting & Controlling team has grown with Agreena and consists of three controllers (in Copenhagen and London) and an accountant. The team is running the day-to-day management of Agreena’s finances including monthly close, VAT, tax, transfer pricing and liquidity management while at the same time supporting the Head of Accounting & Controlling on several key projects such as having implemented a new ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics F&O), annual audit reporting and ad-hoc requests and dialogues requests and setting up new legal entities in several new jurisdictions to support Agreena’s international growth.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead and develop the Accounting & Controlling team, ensuring an inspirational workplace, a strong learning environment with quality deliveries and taking responsibility for many strategic projects to support Agreena’s continued growth.

For this role we are expecting a person to be located in Copenhagen or the surrounding area, as it is a hybrid role, working from our Copenhagen office a few days per week.

How Will You Make An Impact

• Owning the full monthly and yearly closing process (incl. reconciliation, accruals, and consolidation) including both yearly and ad-hoc audits across Agreena Group and legal entities;
• Handle internal and external tax, VAT and transfer pricing matters incl communication with and reporting to relevant tax authorities;
• Proactive and on request support and advice the entire Agreena organisation with accounting related matters;
• Performing and improving internal control procedures and other compliance related matters;
• Be overall responsible for cash flow management (incl statements and short term forecast) and vendor management;
• Be overall responsible for internal projects related to accounting and engaging the A&C team in those projects;
• Planning, implementing and improving existing and future financial processes, controlling and accounting tasks to support further scaling at Agreena;
• Supporting system integration, automation and optimising tasks to enable further growth.
  
  

Who We’re Looking For

• You have a strong track record for people leadership and delivering results through high performing teams;
• You are comfortable with ambiguity and change and you thrive with identifying novel and efficient ways to tackle new challenges with a growth mindset;
• You prioritise team collaboration and honest feedback in your leadership role and are able to lead by example;
• You have a strong background with accounting and/or controlling, e.g. from an Audit company or growth company.
• Knowledge of Danish and European accounting rules and practices are essential;
• You have experience in an international setup with team members in various jurisdictions and different working cultures – including being fluent in English;
• Professional working proficiency in Danish language.

• Lead a similar team on a growth journey;
• Experience with system integrations, as we constantly try to ensure our landscape it set up for growth;
• Experience with close collaboration with Commercial and Tech teams;
• Experience with working in Agreena’s finance systems, e.g. Microsoft ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics F&O, Zenegy and Acubiz.
