For the first time in the Red Cross capital, we will hold two family camps for families in vulnerable positions. We are putting together the team of volunteers for our newly started kitchen team, which will help create good food experiences for the families at the camp. A Little About The Camps

The basic idea of the family camp is to strengthen the family's network, give them positive experiences together as a family and to create a free space with peace, security and community. Everyone must leave with an experience of having been on holiday and have something to talk about after the summer holiday.

• 15 families come to each camp
• The camps will be held during the school summer holidays in 2024 in week 27 and 28. You can choose which one of the weeks suits you best.
• You will be part of a volunteer team with approx. 14 other volunteers, where you approx. will be 4 on the kitchen team.

• You will have a week full of challenging, fun and rewarding experiences in the kitchen.
• You will help create unforgettable dining experiences for families who need a much-needed break from everyday life.
• You can give children and families in vulnerable positions new food experiences, which may motivate them to a new way of thinking about meals in everyday life.
• You will become part of a strong and dedicated kitchen team.
  
  

What are your role and tasks as a kitchen volunteer?

• Your noblest task is to cook all the camp's delicious meals together with the kitchen team.
• To create a lot of excitement, curiosity and joy by making good dishes.
• To create a framework, space and opportunity for children, young people and parents to help in the kitchen. Patience is therefore a virtue at a family camp :)
  
  

We are looking for...

• You, who are passionate about cooking for many people and who love to use the meal as a gathering point.
• You who are patient and have an understanding of different food cultures.
• You, who can handle reasonable time pressure and are ok with us running (a little) fast during the five days when we hold the camp.
• You who want to help plan the meal plan and shopping before the camp.
• You, who would like to help build up the food culture at a new camp.
  
  

What is expected?

• You can set aside time for a few meetings during the spring to meet with the other kitchen volunteers.
• That you can participate in a whole family camp for 5-6 days in July 2024 either in week 27 or in week 28.
