At DFDS, we have more than 4000 sea-based employees working in European waters on our freight and passenger vessels. Operating the HR system that supports their life at sea is a crucial part of making DFDS a great place to work.

Seafaring is a way of life, with many distinctive differences from that of life ashore. It is vital for our work and success, that we include the many varying perspectives, values, and practices in the day-to-day administration of our Crewing System.

About The Role

Together with 3 colleagues in the team, you will be responsible for the structured operation and support of AdonisHR, our crewing system for all seafarers. In AdonisHR we manage Crew lists, Certificate management, Roster Planning and in some case also salary. As the maritime industry is heavily regulated, it is essential to secure that DFDS at any time follow regulation and can verify that we do. A critical part of this is to ensure that data and processes in the systems are standardised across all flags and vessels.

What kind of exciting challenges can you expect to meet in this role? 

The majority of tasks will be split between system administration and system support, but other related task may also be relevant.

AdonisHR receives regular updates that need to be distributed and installed on a large pool of vessels spread out across European waters. Being on control of releases and release plans as well as feature updates and change requests is critical part of the job.

Having a structured process is essential for us as we often have several tasks executing simultaneously.

Supporting the platform means that the team act as 2nd level support to our Crewing organization as well as Office managers on the vessels. As with any support organization we value the structured approach, meaning that we gather knowledge and learnings and constantly build our knowledge base for the mutual benefit of ourselves, and everyone involved with the platform.

About You

The ideal person for this position will have the following qualifications:  

  • Experience from an IT support role with general knowledge of support platforms and processes.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience preparing training manuals and FAQ materials for easy-access and end-user guidance.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and teamwork approach.
  • Experience in performing System installations, Upgrades and Maintenance procedures.
  • Experience with vendor management.
  • General experience with Microsoft 365 and tools in the platform.
  • Basic project management skills.
  • It is an advantage but not a requirement if you have experience with the AdonisHR Crewing System.
