Head of Global Agriculture Trading

Do you want to lead and transform global agricultural trading at the heart of DLG?

We are looking for a dynamic and structured Head of Global Agriculture Trading to lead the transformation and operation of DLG Agri’s Global Trading function. This role offers the opportunity to establish and optimize an integrated trading team, with own P&L responsibility, driving for value chain efficiency and commercial value.

Trading is now being established as a truly global function across the DLG Agriculture Business Group – consolidating activities that were previously managed locally in countries such as Denmark, Germany, and Sweden. The Global Trading team is the central hub for unifying trading experience, market understanding and extensive supply chain & local market structure knowledge across borders.

As the head of the team, it is your role to shape the critical interface to production, logistics and sales with the goal to maximize value and minimize value leakage. You do this by deriving tailored trading strategies for the DLG portfolio and working closely together with stakeholders and the portfolio & optimization team to apply a holistic view on the integrated DLG value chain from sourcing to final customer sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement trading strategies to maximize profitability
• Drive additional business by establishing new and growing existing product areas
• Conduct thorough analysis of market trends, geopolitical events and economic data to inform Trading decisions
• Drive portfolio optimization opportunities by optimizing flows and pricing around DLG’s physical assets and collaborating closely with Logistics, Production, and Sales to create integrated, value-driven solutions
• Define and govern pricing, exposure, and contract strategies – including transfer pricing frameworks and trading terms – aligned with DLG’s risk appetite and commercial goals
• Establish and govern an “optimum plan” to align trading and operational functions, drive transparency, and enable continuous improvement
• Own and develop key steering KPIs at sufficient granularity
• Build and lead a high-performing trading team, spanning crop traders, execution staff, and planning/optimization experts, with a strong digital and analytical foundation
  
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Proven leadership experience in commodity trading, preferably in agriculture or related to physical commodities
• Deep understanding of trading instruments, including derivatives and physical contracts
• Proven excellence in driving end-to-end value chain margin optimization
• Strong financial acumen and experience in managing P&L ownership
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, decision governance, and communication skills
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on execution mindset and a bias for results
  
  
  

You will report to the Head of Agriculture Business Group and be based either in Fredericia, Denmark, or in Osterrönfeld, Germany.
