Head of Planning & Optimization

Do you want to drive value optimization across DLG’s agricultural value chain?

We are looking for a structured and analytical Head of Planning & Optimization to build out and lead our integrated commercial optimization efforts across origination, logistics, production, sales and trading. This role plays a pivotal part in enabling DLG Agri to realize its full commercial potential by utilizing portfolio modelling, optimization tooling, operational stakeholder alignment and deep know how of our value chain and intrinsic optimization opportunities.

You will guide the development of a coherent, commercially oriented planning & optimization function that drives timely, data-backed decisions on margin optimization across the agricultural value chains of DLG. Success in the role will be defined by measurable margin improvements, timely implementation, and strong stakeholder satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive integrated planning and optimization across core functions, leveraging input from trading, logistics, production, and sourcing to maximize group-wide margin
• Own and align optimization results with respective teams in structured interfaces
• Create transparency on optimization potential across the organization
• Oversee the development of optimization models using advanced analytics to define the ideal asset, flow and commodity configurations
• Serve as the central hub to align across functions into a unified, margin-maximizing plan
• Lead frequent planning cycles based on updated market, demand, and capacity signals
• Deliver the analytical foundation and inputs for strategic planning cycles and budgeting
• Establish and evolve the Planning & Optimization function
  
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience in value chain analytics or portfolio management and analytics
• Strong analytical background with experience in modeling, operations research and advanced analytics (e.g., machine learning, econometrics)
• Experience with commodity value chains and generating value from optionality
• Demonstrated ability to lead, and develop high-performing teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration and accountability and driving a commercial mindset
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder alignment capabilities
  
  
  

You will report to the Head of Global Agriculture Trading and be based either in Fredericia, Denmark, or in Osterrönfeld, Germany.
