About The Department

The Utility team is part of Plant Engineering, which falls under the broader Engineering division. Plant Engineering is responsible for manufacturing maintenance of production assets, metrology, utility operations, asset management, and ensuring compliance. With a strong service mindset, Plant Engineering delivers reliable and professional support across the entire Copenhagen site.

The Utility team is responsible for maintaining mission-critical infrastructure, including cleanroom HVAC systems, purified water systems (HPW, PW/WFI), clean steam, compressed air, technical gases, and cooling systems. Comprising 12 skilled technicians and engineers, the team is structured into three specialized subgroups: HVAC, Automation, and Utility. Together, we collaborate to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our two production facilities. The team blends extensive expertise with fresh perspectives from educational institutions – The team upholds a strong commitment to ownership and accountability for all utility systems.

You will join the HVAC team, which consists of two technicians and one engineer. Together, you are responsible for the operation, compliance, and continuous improvement of HVAC systems serving regulated areas and critical assets. As a technician within the HVAC team, your primary focus will be performing and executing maintenance tasks on several process-critical systems that directly impact production.

Our facilities operate around the clock, requiring flexibility from the team. While most work is performed during regular business hours, critical tasks may occasionally necessitate availability during evenings or weekends to ensure uninterrupted utility operations. The team follows a well-structured and transparent 24/7 on-call rotation, planned well in advance.

The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stable operation of HVAC systems, executing maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvements. You will collaborate with stakeholders across site Copenhagen to perform maintenance, implement upgrades and modifications. Close cooperation with production teams, technical craftsmen, and cross-functional stakeholders will be essential for defining, coordinating, and planning tasks.

Additionally, you will participate in Engineering’s 24/7 duty roster to ensure operational readiness during off-hours. Your responsibilities will encompass both practical, hands-on work and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain validated HVAC systems within GMP-classified and process areas.
  • Execute and document both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Continuously optimize the performance and energy efficiency of HVAC systems together with the team.
  • Present the HVAC subgroup during audits and inspections.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation, including P&IDs, SOPs, and maintenance plans.
  • Lead and support technical investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant GMP, EHS, and technical standards.
  • Facilitate improvements through system upgrade and renovations.
  • Actively participate in and support the 24/7 duty roster.
  • Ensure maximum uptime of utility systems to support continuous 24/7 operations.
