How You Will Make An Impact

As Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you will lead and inspire a dedicated team responsible for strengthening and safeguarding Arla’s global IT security. Reporting directly to the CIO, you will drive our cybersecurity strategy, risk management, and governance, ensuring security is embedded across all IT disciplines worldwide. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and business stakeholders, translating technical risks into actionable business insights.

Key responsibilities include

• Leading strategy, risk management, governance, policy development, and advisory services, ensuring alignment with Arla’s global business objectives.
• Defining standards, policies, and procedural controls for the first line of defense.
• Mobilizing and leading the second line of defense for IT security.
• Establishing and maintaining governance and control mechanisms to support the IT security strategy.
• Promoting a strong IT security culture throughout Arla, including awareness and training initiatives.
  
  

You will lead a team of 15 employees (split between Denmark and Poland), supported by external consultants, and collaborate broadly across Arla IT and the wider organization. The Security area in Arla is divided into IT Security Strategy & Governance (your area) and Operational Security (within Arla IT Operations).

What Will Make You Successful

You are a business-oriented and experienced CISO from a complex organizational environment, able to be present in both Aarhus/Viby and Gdańsk.

To succeed in this role, you will need

• Extensive experience in IT and cybersecurity within a similarly sized organization.
• One or more relevant certifications such as CISA, CISM, or CISSP.
• Strong, empathetic leadership skills, with a collaborative approach across IT and business functions.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strategic and business-minded approach
• Proven experience in risk management and IT auditing.
