Linköping University invites applications for a postdoctoral position focused on the development of crystallisable polymer nanofibers for photocatalytic water splitting and CO2 reduction. This role is part of the Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability (WISE), Sweden’s largest investment in materials science, aiming to advance sustainable technologies through innovative research.
The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary and international research environment, with access to the WISE Research School, which offers seminars, courses, research visits, and networking opportunities with peers and industry.
Key Responsibilities
– Synthesize donor and acceptor monomers
– Polymerize block copolymers via CTP and/or cross-coupling techniques
– Purify polymers to very low polydispersity indices using chromatographic methods
– Develop crystallisation driven self-assembly (CDSA) methods for nanofiber formation
– Investigate CDSA heterojunction nanofibers for solar fuels photocatalysis
Additional Duties (as Applicable)
– Electrochemical and optical characterization of polymers
– Photocatalytic testing
Requirements
– PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
– Experience in organic synthesis and polymer chemistry
– Strong motivation and creativity in scientific research
