The group, led by Prof. Peter Jonas, is internationally recognized for its research on the structure and function of synapses, with a particular emphasis on synaptic transmission, plasticity, and higher-order brain computations.

Research in the group focuses on hippocampal circuits and involves the use of advanced experimental techniques, including multiple-cell recording, subcellular patch-clamp, calcium imaging, various forms of light and electron microscopy, as well as computational modeling. The team collaborates closely with clinical partners and conducts experiments across several species, including mice, rats, and humans.

Requirements

– A background in neuroscience or a closely related field

– Experience with patch-clamp recording techniques

– Training in quantitative analysis of biophysical data

– Strong interest in interdisciplinary research
