The Department of Biological Sciences at Clemson University invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Malacrino Lab, focusing on plant-microbiome interactions with an emphasis on the bioinformatics analysis of meta-omics and pangenomics datasets. The fellow will join an interdisciplinary group and will be responsible for data analysis and manuscript preparation, contributing to high-impact research in microbial ecology and bioinformatics.
Requirements
– Ph.D. in microbial ecology, bioinformatics, microbiome science, or closely related field
– Strong background in bioinformatics, including experience with meta-omics and pangenomics data analysis
– Proficiency in high-performance computing, Linux command line, and scripting languages (Perl, Python, R, Bash)
– Familiarity with databases (e.g., SQL) and various bioinformatic software and statistical approaches
– Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research environment
– Strong communication skills and experience leading manuscript development for peer-reviewed publications
