Senior Rewards Consultant – Denmark

Location: Aarhus or Copenhagen (Hybrid)

Are you a commercially minded consultant ready to create impact with some of Denmark’s most ambitious multinational organizations? Do you enjoy working directly with clients, shaping reward strategies, and delivering high-impact solutions?

At Mercer, we help organizations across the Nordic region transform their workforce strategies through data-driven insights, innovative total rewards solutions, and a deep understanding of people and performance. As part of Marsh McLennan, Mercer is a global leader in health, wealth, and career consulting.

We are now looking for a Senior Rewards Consultant to join our team in Aarhus or Copenhagen. You’ll work with top-tier organizations, advising HR and business leaders on reward strategy, job architecture, pay transparency, and more – all while playing a key role in growing client relationships and new business opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Reward Projects: Deliver strategic reward consulting projects – including compensation frameworks, incentive design, job level frameworks, and pay transparency initiatives.
  • Understand people practices: Your deep understanding of HR & organizational practices and industry dynamics will enable you to provide valuable insights and recommendations to clients, helping them navigate the complexities of their workforce strategies.
  • Drive Business Growth: Identify opportunities, contribute to proposals, and win new work. Be an active part of client acquisition and retention efforts.
  • Engage Senior Stakeholders: Build and maintain strong relationships with HR and business leaders, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Combine client acquisition, portfolio management, and relationship management: Your ability to balance business development efforts with nurturing existing client relationships will be crucial in driving growth, fostering long-term partnerships, and serving as a Relationship Manager for our clients. This multifaceted role will involve acquiring new clients, managing portfolios, and developing strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction and drive business success.
  • Mentor and Lead: Support junior colleagues through guidance and collaboration on project delivery.
  • Translate Insights into Action: Conduct robust analysis and turn data into clear, business-relevant recommendations.
  • Understand data and set up clear KPIs: Your proficiency in data analysis and ability to derive meaningful insights will help you set up clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that measure the effectiveness of project delivery. These KPIs will inform decision making and track the progress of our clients, driving continuous improvement and success in client delivery.
  • Strengthen our brand and market positioning: Your thought leadership, market knowledge, and ability to tailor impactful solutions will contribute to enhancing our brand reputation and positioning in the competitive market. This will establish us as the preferred partner in the HR and organizational field, making us the natural choice for clients seeking guidance and support.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in rewards, compensation & benefits, or HR strategy - ideally in a consulting or external/internal advisory setting.
  • Strong commercial acumen — able to spot opportunities, pitch ideas, and contribute to business growth.
  • Proven client-facing experience and confidence working with senior stakeholders across HR and business functions.
  • Deep knowledge of reward frameworks, compensation structures, and job architecture.
  • Fluent in Danish and English (or another Nordic language); Danish fluency is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across teams and geographies.
  • A passion for data-driven problem solving and translating insights into tangible business impact.

Why Join Mercer?

  • Work with Leading Clients: Advise global and regional organizations on their most pressing people and reward challenges.
  • Grow Commercially and Strategically: Expand your consulting and business development skills in a dynamic, client-driven environment.
  • Collaborate Globally: Be part of a collaborative and inclusive team that works across borders and business areas.
  • Shape the Future of Work: Contribute to transformational work in total rewards, talent strategy, and organizational design.
  • Enjoy Flexibility and Support: Hybrid work, competitive benefits, and a strong focus on career growth.
