Experienced Client Consultant (Bygherrerådgiver)
COWI

We are experiencing a steadily increasing demand for client consultancy services in western Denmark and we are therefore looking for an experienced client advisor to contribute to our continued development and growth. Are you an experienced Client Consultant? Then you may want to join one of our offices in western Denmark (vejle, Odense, Esbjerg and Aarhus) and help our public, social, and private clients create a sustainable future!
Who are you?
You have solid experience with large construction projects, with at least 5 years of industry experience, giving you deep insight and broad knowledge of development, tendering, design, and construction processes — whether as a consultant, contractor, or client. You may have an educational background as an engineer, architect, building constructor, or another relevant construction-related education - but your diploma matters less than your experience and insight.
As a client consultant, you have significant experience with complex projects, where you have been responsible for project-related and contractual challenges in all phases. You understand the premises of construction and know the key mechanisms that play a crucial role in each phase.
You will perform your tasks in close collaboration with clients and partners, where you act as the trusted advisor ensuring project delivery in cooperation with COWI’s many specialists. In addition, you will contribute to the department’s development both professionally and commercially, and you are ready to take on leadership responsibilities in developing colleagues and project team members.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Classic client consultancy services such as needs assessment, establishing decision-making basis, tender consultancy, process design, program writing, risk management, and monitoring quality, time, and cost during design, execution, and handover
- Strategic advice to clients regarding business cases, stakeholders, projects, and processes
- Ongoing project management
- Supporting the client in terms of follow-up and reporting
- Practical use of digital tools and integration with BIM, including understanding the contractual aspects of digital construction
- Advising social housing organizations and clients in this sector
- Budgeting, planning, and managing your own projects (internally)
Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
We expect that you have:
- The ability to inspire trust and facilitate collaboration between stakeholders in a construction project
- A strong overview and extensive knowledge of core disciplines such as service descriptions, contractual relationships, contract management, and quality assurance
- Strong communication skills, enabling you to convey and visualize planning results and ensure clear agreements with colleagues, clients, and other consultants and contractors
- The ability to think holistically and prioritize your tasks effectively
- A proactive and assertive approach
- Strong communication skills - in writing and orally, in both Danish and English.
