A Share Plan Manager is responsible for the operational execution and data management of Maersk’s global long-term incentive (LTI) plans, delivered through various vehicles, including, Restricted Shares, Performance Shares, Stock Options, Shadow Cash plans.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an experience in share plan administration platforms to ensure accurate processing of grants, vesting, tax and compliance.

A Share Plan Manager is responsible for the operational execution and data management of Maersk’s global long-term incentive (LTI) plans, delivered through various vehicles, including, Restricted Shares, Performance Shares, Stock Options, Shadow Cash plans.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an experience in share plan administration platforms to ensure accurate processing of grants, vesting, tax and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Plan administration and Data Integrity
- Execute the granting, vesting and taxation of share-based compensation for participants across 50+ countries.
- Work on eligibility list, perform grant calculations at the time of April and December grant.
- Perform regular data checks to ensure accuracy in reporting, payroll processing, and system output. (e.g. grant amounts, vesting dates, forfeiture status).
- Maintain Computershare with up-to-date information regarding leavers, transfers, mobility tracking, tax rates, special tax calculation flags, insider flags, payroll bank accounts etc.
- Liaise with global finance team (treasury and accounting) to provide various reports and data related to LTI.
- Guide global payroll teams to ensure correct tax reporting and withholding.
- Work with external consultants to seek tax and compliance advice, when required.
- Ask the right questions to challenge inconsistencies and improve data accuracy.
- Support employees by on regular queries re: tax treatment, plan rules, and vesting schedules, system access.
The busiest periods in the LTI cycle typically include:
- Main Grant (Feb to April):
- Validate eligibility, grant calculations, and data accuracy.
- Prepare grant project plan in coordination with Computershare.
- Finalize plan documentation with the Head of Executive Rewards and implement it in Computershare (e.g., plan rules, grant letters, and employee communication).
- Engage with multiple stakeholders to clarify eligibility, grant size, system data quality, and leaver tracking.
- Extract and reconcile Workday reports to finalize grants.
- Vesting & Taxation (Jan to April):
- Validate vesting lists, tax treatment across jurisdictions, and mobility-related tax calculations.
- Address employee queries on taxation and ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Maintain strong data quality throughout the year to simplify execution.
- Dividend Processing (March): Reviewing calculations and ensuring proper allocations of dividend equivalents for all plan participants
- Post grant tracking (April-May): Track grant acceptance and take necessary actions within the required timelines (e.g., 7P acceptance deadlines in Denmark).
- Interim Grant (Oct to Dec):
- Execute the same steps as the main grant but with less complexity, as plan rules and documentation remain unchanged from April.
- Cover employees who became eligible post-April.
- Ongoing Responsibilities (Year-Round)
- Manage ongoing queries from employees, finance, and payroll on taxation, mobility impact, and plan rules.
- Regular data checks and reviews to ensure vesting is as smooth as possible.
- Monitor mobility and leaver activity in real-time and update Computershare accordingly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to data management
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formula checks).
- Experience working with global share plan platforms (e.g., Computershare, Global Shares)
- Basic understanding of LTI taxation
- Ability to identify data inconsistencies and proactively resolve issues.
- Service-oriented mindset when interacting with Senior Executives.
