At Abacus Medicine, our Finance team plays a crucial role in supporting our mission to improve global healthcare through better access to medicine by ensuring efficient financial management and providing insights that drive informed decision-making.

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our international expansion by ensuring smooth financial operations in the new markets we enter.

As part of the Finance department at Abacus Medicine, you will join a growing and dynamic team with colleagues based in Denmark, Hungary, and the Netherlands. Within the Accounting team, you will work closely with 10 dedicated professionals and collaborate across departments with colleagues from Purchasing, Business Development, and Supply Chain.

The Accounting team holds the formal responsibility for overseeing financial transactions across 25 legal entities in 19 countries. In this role, you will contribute directly to supporting Abacus Medicine’s continued growth across Europe, while ensuring high-quality financial reporting in full compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

Your Main Responsibilities Include

  • Posting vouchers and recording daily expenses accurately in the accounting system
  • Processing and executing timely creditor payments to suppliers and vendors
  • Performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial records match bank statements
  • Preparing and submitting VAT reports in compliance with local tax regulations and authorities
  • Reconciling general ledger accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data
  • Supporting payroll administration together with an external payroll provider
  • Assisting in year-end closing activities, in close collaboration with the Financial Controller
  • Handling accounts payable and maintaining good supplier relationships

In Addition, We Expect That You

  • Known of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken, as the primary corporate language
  • Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or experience in a related field is highly valued
  • Proven experience in accounting with a focus on accounts payable and creditor payments
  • Knowledge of international VAT compliance and administration
  • Experience supporting payroll processes and annual bookkeeping activities
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Proactive team player with strong collaboration skills and keen attention to detail
