R&D Senior Scientist for development of skin adhesives

At our HQ in Humlebæk, you will join Adhesive & Sensor Technologies. We are a team of 13 highly specialised scientists in adhesive and sensor technologies. We are one of three departments in the Materials department consisting of more than 40 people, most of us polymer scientists. We develop effective solutions within ostomy care, continence care, wound care, and bowel management to help our end-users live the life they want to live.
"It's a very international, diverse team with a high degree of expertise – and even though we work on separate projects, we have a solid cooperation and a strong tradition for knowledge sharing," says Lotte Klein, Head of Adhesive and Sensor Technologies.
The role
As our new Senior Adhesive Scientist, you will develop skin adhesive formulations for our products. You will serve as a subject matter expert on various projects, collaborating with project managers, laboratory technicians, product designers, and other specialists in cross-functional teams. Your work may also involve partnerships with universities and other external partners.

Key Responsibilities
- Utilize your polymer knowledge to develop new formulations for pressure-sensitive adhesives for skin applications.
- Conduct performance testing such as rheology, peel, and other relevant methods.
- Document material properties and performance, communicating key findings to both scientific and non-scientific stakeholders.
- Provide our commercial team with evidence to substantiate our claims.
- Support and educate other functions onsite and internationally as our specialist in skin adhesives.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of test methods to ensure the best evaluation of adhesive performance.
- PhD or master's degree in polymer chemistry, chemical engineering, material technology, or organic chemistry.
- Solid hands-on experience within polymer chemistry.
- Experience with material characterization methods and performance testing such as rheology and tensile testing.
- Understanding of the importance of documentation in a regulated industry.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Have experience within one of the following areas Block copolymers, hydrocolloids, skin adhesives, tissue adhesives, formulation of adhesive polymeric blends.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 and medical device documentation.
