Technical Project Lead

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Technical Project Lead to join our growing team. Your Role and Team

As our Technical Project Lead, you'll be a part of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team, contributing significantly to product development. Your primary focus will be bridging the gap between project execution and technical development, ensuring seamless integration across external partners and internal teams, including hardware, firmware, and software. You'll ensure smooth communication and efficient workflows, helping development projects move effectively from concept through to successful production and deployment across Europe.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead Technical Project Lifecycles: Plan, scope, and drive the execution of complex product development projects, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards. You'll manage timelines, allocate resources, and keep projects moving forward.
• Ensure Technical Excellence: Apply your expertise in electronics and firmware development to guide critical technical decisions. You will coordinate efforts between hardware and software teams, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure robust, scalable solutions.
• Proactively Manage Risk & Processes: Identify and mitigate technical and project-level risks, addressing potential roadblocks before they impact progress. You'll also play a key role in refining our engineering and project management processes for continuous improvement.
• Facilitate Cross-Functional Communication: Act as the primary link ensuring clear and consistent communication between technical teams, internal and external stakeholders. You'll ensure all relevant parties are aligned and informed on project progress and requirements.
  
  

What We're Looking For In a Candidate

We need someone who combines strong project leadership with deep technical insight.

• Education & Project Management: A technical diploma or Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. You have experience in a project management role, within the complete product development lifecycle, from concept and design to production and post-launch support. Ideally within a technical product development environment, with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of electronics design and firmware development.You can effectively connect technical understanding across mechanical, electronic, firmware, and software disciplines.
• Communication & Collaboration: You have clear, concise verbal and written communication skills in English, capable of adapting for technical and non-technical audiences. You're skilled at fostering teamwork and collaboration across different functions.
• Adaptability & Problem-Solving: You're highly analytical and proactive in addressing both technical issues and project challenges. You can also adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks effectively. You are organised, detail-oriented, and adept at managing complex project information.

Within 1 month

Onboarding & Foundational Knowledge

• Become thoroughly familiar with Donkey Republic's bike models and components, including electronics and firmware.
• Establish initial relationships with key team members across Supply Chain, Operations, and Product.
• Understand current and upcoming development projects to grasp their scope, status, and immediate challenges.
  
  

Within 3 - 6 months

Project Ownership & Cross-Functional Integration

• Begin leading specific technical development projects, ensuring plans, timelines, and resource allocations are well-defined.
• Actively facilitate communication and collaboration, starting to bridge gaps between hardware, firmware, and software teams on specific projects.
• Contribute to identifying and proactively addressing technical and project-level risks.
• Start contributing to the implementation of minor improvements in cross-functional workflows.
  
  

Within 6 - 12 months

Strategic Impact & Process Optimisation

• Take full ownership of ensuring technical excellence and robust, scalable solutions across integrated systems.
• Proactively identify and address inefficiencies, leading initiatives to refine engineering and project management processes.
• Act as the primary point of contact for technical project status, challenges, and strategic direction across the organisation.
• Use project data and technical insights to anticipate future needs and drive proactive enhancements in our product development.
