Solution Architect (Maternity Cover)

Are you ready to architect impactful change in a fast-growing global retail brand? At Flying Tiger Copenhagen, we’re looking for a Solution Architect to join us on a temporary maternity cover contract, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role.
Based at our headquarters on Strandgade in the heart of Copenhagen, you’ll report directly to the Head of Architecture and become part of a tight-knit, collaborative Architecture & Engineering team. The duration of the temporary role is from now until the end of 2026.
In this role, you’ll have a direct and measurable impact on our business and technology landscape by designing high-quality, scalable solutions across a variety of programmes. You’ll ensure architectural integrity, guide critical decisions, and contribute to our engineering standards, best practices, and overall target architecture. Whether it’s driving innovation, supporting integration choices, or aligning stakeholders, your work will shape the foundation for both current initiatives and our long-term digital ambitions.
Duties and responsibilities
- Act as the primary architect on assigned programmes and projects.
- Lead the solution definition of programmes and produce architecture deliverables such as high-level designs, architecture principles, non-functional requirements etc.
- Lead and cultivate architecture and engineering governance in projects, programmes, and reviews to ensure optimal quality of solutions and steer any work towards strategic decisions and business value.
- Drive advisory, concept development, prototyping (tech leapfrogging) and potential PoC before solutions are requested by FTC Tech and business peers.
- Actively participate in Design review meetings with the rest of the architecture team and relevant parties. Provide feedback during review sessions to technology peers and become a trusted advisor on domain related applications and technology.
- Act as the technical expert on vendor and technology selection processes.
- Contribute content towards engineering standards and work towards having those standards reviewed and approved by the architecture and engineering community.
- Help define architecture deliverables and templates such as design documents, architecture blueprints etc.
Skills and experience
- 5+ years of solution architect experience at retailers or working on retail solutions covering one or more of the following areas:
- Ecommerce and Omnichannel
- Product Development and Management – PIM/PLM
- Pricing
- Customer Loyalty & Marketing
- Planning & Merchandising
- Multiple years of experience in global and multicultural organisations.
- Experience with end-to-end solution design including integration choices.
- Exposure to domain driven design, microservices, cloud architecture as well as modern integration technologies.
- Experience with event driven architecture and API first application landscapes.
Other
- Degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.
- Good understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models.
- Understanding of agile methods and processes and capability of supporting agile project teams.
