About The Role

We’re a leading player in the shipping and logistics industry in Europe and are underway in a large green transition of our entire operations along with an extensive digitalisation journey. Over the last years we have grown significantly, both organically and through acquisitions.

The Strategy & Consulting team (S&C) supports the Executive Management in setting DFDS’ strategic direction and delivering some of the highest impact strategic projects across the company. Our projects span across operations, commercial, organizational development, corporate strategy, and M&A - covering our Ferry and Logistics divisions as well as group-level initiatives. To support this journey we’re looking for a full-time Project Manager with at least 2 years of relevant experience and a strong interest in strategy to join our S&C team.

The team consists of passionate ex-management consultants bringing experience from a multitude of industries and practices. The team appreciates spending time together and regularly arranges off-sites, dinners, and other social events. Furthermore, we take pride in a supporting professional environment where colleagues are always ready to help. You will have a high degree of responsibility and exposure to the Executive Management from the beginning of your career with DFDS.

The job is based at our headquarters in Copenhagen, and occasional travel of 10-15 days a year to onsite locations across Europe is to be expected. You will be reporting to the VP, Head of Strategy & Consulting, who brings a background from the global management consulting firm Kearney.

What kind of exciting challenges can you expect to meet in this role?

As a Project Manager, You Will Work Alongside Experienced Colleagues And Your Focus Will Be To Lead And Support DFDS Colleagues In Strategic Projects. This Will Include, But Is Not Limited To

  • Identify and frame the key issues DFDS is facing
  • Perform analytical work incl. problem solving, data analysis and business cases
  • Drive projects forward incl. project planning and management in collaboration with colleagues across the company
  • Set the organisation up for successful implementation
  • Spar on strategic topics with senior stakeholders
  • Be heavily involved with DFDS top management to help shape and realise the group strategy

Examples Of Previous Projects

  • Development of DFDS’ new group strategy (Moving Together Towards 2030)
  • Commercial due diligence and integration of recent acquisitions of EKOL Logistics and FRS Iberia
  • Establishment of long-term digitalisation roadmap for Ferry & Logistics divisions
  • Turnaround project for an underperforming business entity in conjunction with local management
  • Greenfield establishment of two new routes from France to Ireland and UK

About You

Furthermore, The Ideal Candidate Has

  • 2+ years relevant professional experience e.g., within management consulting, business development, strategy, finance, private equity or similar
  • A degree e.g. in business administration, economics, finance, strategy, or engineering
  • Strong skills within project management, problem solving, analysis and communication
  • Ability to run a project independently (with ample sparring) x½
  • Experience within Excel and PowerPoint
  • Relevant industry experience (a plus, but not required)
  • Full professional proficiency in English
