What is the job about?

We deliver tailored solutions that meet specific water treatment needs – with a strong focus on efficiency, sustainability, and long-term water savings. As our new Automation Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing high-quality PLC/HMI software for control systems used in advanced water treatment solutions.

You’ll work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that technical solutions and documentation are developed early in the project phase – right after handover from sales. Your strong technical insight and collaborative mindset will be essential in delivering solutions that meet customer expectations and agreed project requirements.

Your primary workplace will be at our site in Stilling, Denmark, where most of our production facilities are located. Some travel within Denmark and Europe is required when commissioning customer systems.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Develop project-specific PLC/HMI software for control systems in water treatment solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers to define functional descriptions.
  • Close dialogue with customers’ programmers to meet requirements.
  • Assist in preparing FAT protocols and test documentation.
  • Support and align Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct commissioning at customer sites.
  • Document commissioned software, including validation reports.
  • Coordinate tasks with sales offices and external partners.
  • Provide technical support to sales, engineering, production, and service teams.
  • Support service department with troubleshoot control systems remotely or on-site when needed.

Your background

We imagine that you have:

  • A degree in Automation Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar – or an electrician background with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial PLC/HMI programming and control systems.
  • Experience with processing plants, preferably within water treatment industry.
  • Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong documentation skills using Word, Excel, and Visio.
  • Fluency in Danish and English – both written and spoken.
  • A structured and detail-oriented way of working.
  • Familiarity with commissioning and validation processes.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
