Job Description
Background
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Office of Information Technology and Management (ITM) plays an essential role in delivering high-quality ICT systems and Green Energy services to a global network of over 170 countries, partners, and territories with UNDP presence. The mission of the ITM Smart Infrastructure Services (SIS) is to create smart facilities, build local capacity, and inspire movements to ensure efficient and sustainable management of technologies in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Smart Facility solutions encompass a range of services, including Green Energy, Connectivity, Security, IoT, and Data management. The ITM framework emphasizes best practices to deliver resilient and sustainable business solutions, fostering innovation throughout the organization.
The mission of ITM Smart Infrastructure is to “Create Smart Facilities, build local Capacity and Inspire and Movement”, which guarantees efficient, innovative, and sustainable management of technologies for UN facilities, and consistency with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Smart Facility solutions include Green Energy services, Connectivity, Security and IoT and Data. ITM offers a framework of best practices to deliver resilient, highly available and sustainable business solutions that flourishing innovation throughout the organization. These services are aligned with the organization’s Digital Transformation Agenda and Smart Facilities Initiative.
The Business Development Analyst will be responsible to improve and grow UNDP Information Technology Management/Smart Infrastructure Services (ITM/SIS) business, by establishing and developing relationships with customers, suppliers and other partners. Working at the Business Development Group, the cornerstone of successful revenue growth and resource mobilization, the Business Development Analyst plays a key role in the strategic development of ITM/SIS.
The Business Development Analyst is expected to provide support to the process of management, marketing, and sale of a number of services and products developed by the ITM/SIS as follows: Green Energy (including, but not limited to, Vehicle-Grid Integration, solar PV installation, energy efficiency, training and capacity building and waste management), Smart Building, Internet of Things (IoT), smart sensors, cloud infrastructure, connectivity, digital and collaboration solutions. As the Business Development Analyst, you will report to the Business Development Specialist and you will identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. Your work can involve careful strategic planning and positioning ITM/SIS in the UN system, NGO and human development arena.

The Global ICT Advisor has the overall responsibility to guide both the Business Development Specialist and the Business Operations Analyst;

Duties And Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Business Development Specialist, the Business Development Analyst will perform the following tasks:
Project Coordination
- Support Business Development Group with coordination with CO (inauguration ceremonies, communication, workshops, shipments),
- Collaborate with the communication team to focus on dissemination and branding of the Smart Facility solutions.
- Preparing visual material for COs.
- Prepare SLA documents and other project specific agreements for new projects and align with legal department.
- Lead research tasks on e-mobility.
- Conduct market research on EV battery disposal and recycling.
- Contribute development reports and guides to disseminate across UNDP.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with different internal/external stakeholders such as partnerships with universities and other UN Agencies
- Develop eLearning opportunities for practitioners in the field of Green Energy, Smart Facilities for X.
- Support on-going partnership activities, for example, due diligence and MOU support.
- In collaboration with other teams within the agency, develop ITM's service approach towards community engagement.
- Proactively ensure pipeline of Smart Facilities projects coming into ITM/SIS. The tasks may include the engagement with external and internal stakeholders.
- Preparation of presentations and other documents.
- Support interns with project work.
- Act as mentor for interns.

- Knowledge of developing and implementing ICT strategy, portfolio and project management services, governance, and policies. Knowledge of project management principle. PMP or PRINCE2 certification or equivalent desirable
Required Skills and Experience
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent ) in Development Studies, International Business, or related field is required, or
- A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Applicants with a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study are not required to have professional work experience. Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in project management, finance and/or procurement related activities.
- Data Analysis & Reporting – experience in data analysis, using tools such as Excel or Power BI to extract insights.
- Stakeholder Engagement – demonstrated ability of collaboration and engagement of various stakeholder groups (e.g., community organizations, government agencies, private sector)
- Visualization tools– knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Project Management –experience in managing projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery while meeting performance goals.
- Report Writing – Proven ability to produce formal reports, adhering to industry standards. Experience in writing technical, research-based, or policy reports.
- Multitasking & Time Management – Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects or tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with shifting priorities.
- Experience in the Smart Facilities, green energy, Information Technology, IoT
- Understanding of the market of Green Energy solutions, experience in customer support.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce)
- Fluency in English is required;
- Fluency in one or more additional UN languages will be an added advantage.
- PRINCE II certification is an added advantage
