We are looking for a Student Analyst to join the investment team part-time the Copenhagen office.

Investment team – CI Regulated Energy Grids (“CI REG”)

There will be no transition without transmission. In order to enable the integration of vast amounts of renewable electrons and molecules into our energy system, we need to meaningfully expand investments in the grid infrastructure. By 2050, cumulative grid investments on the electric side are expected to total USD 20-30 trillion while hydrogen enabled pipeline infrastructure will total another USD 1 trillion. In response to this unprecedented investment need, we are launching a new fund strategy and are looking for people to help us make bring capital into attractive and necessary grid investments.

CI REG will focus on equity investments at both asset- and corporate-level in regulated transmission and distribution networks, including electric and hydrogen grids, in OECD countries.



Joining the investment team part-time, you will contribute to the origination, structuring, due diligence, and execution of investments enabling the expansion of regulated electric networks so critically needed to ensure a successful energy transition. You will work together with a lean, diverse and highly experienced team of initially ~5 people in a high-pace dynamic, entrepreneurial and international environment. CI REG is committed to challenging and inspiring you while prioritizing your learning and personal development. High-performing Student Analysts may be offered full-time Associate positions upon graduation.



The role
Based in Copenhagen with a primary focus on Western Europe you will join the close-knit investment team that works across geographies. The office language is English.



Responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Screening, market analysis, and due diligence of new investment opportunities
  • Financial modelling and valuation
  • Working with external advisors and partners, including legal, financial, and technical to contribute to investment execution
  • Development of analysis and high-quality presentations for internal decision makers and external stakeholders

The position is part-time and based in central Copenhagen. Please note that we don't have a remote work opportunity, therefore, only students residing in Denmark will be considered.

The work environment at CIP is fast paced, stimulating, global and demanding. We are therefore looking for a self-driven, collaborative, and analytical Student Analyst currently in their last year of a relevant Bachelor’s degree or in their 1st year of a relevant Master’s degree within Economics, Finance, Business, or other related fields.



Key qualifications include:

  • Solid quantitative and analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while still being a team player with the confidence to exercise judgement appropriately, engaging with colleagues at all levels of seniority
  • Written and verbal communication in English on the professional level
  • Comfortable with taking on responsibility
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Basic corporate finance and financial modelling experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and experience with energy or infrastructure is a benefit
