About Us

In Group Tax at Danske Bank, we specialise in managing diverse tax matters, including corporate tax, transfer pricing, VAT, operational business taxes, HR taxes, and Tax Technology. Our team of 28 specialists is spread across the four Nordic countries, the UK, and Lithuania. The Business Tax Team in Denmark, supported by colleagues in Sweden, Norway, and Finland, services Danske Bank Group, including Nordic branches, Realkredit Danmark, Danica Pension, and Nordania Leasing, offering insights on operational taxes, products, tax reporting, and HR taxes.

Located at our new head office at Postgrunden near Copenhagen Central Station, you'll join a welcoming team of 15 colleagues. We offer a flexible work environment with the option of working three days in the office and two days from home each week. The tone in Group Tax is informal and reflects the commitment as a team to assist, support and guide the business in tax matters. We hold good relations, humour and respect for each other’s personalities and competences high.

About The Role

As a Tax Specialist in the Business Tax Team, you'll engage with a variety of tax-legal tasks, working with stakeholders across Danske Bank. Your insights will support various operational units and functions.

  • Provide internal HR tax advisory services, assisting with relocations, business travellers, benefits taxation, payroll reporting, and social security.
  • Conduct tax analysis of withholding tax rules, particularly within the US market (QI) and other relief-at-source markets, including FASTER implementation.
  • Ensure overall adherence to Danske Bank Tax Policy including underlying Tax Instructions, including but not limited to our HR Tax instruction.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in legislation, guidelines, court decisions, published administrative rulings and observed changes in practice in Denmark and diligently provide tax specialist assistance to stakeholders in the Group where regulatory changes might demand revisions incl. facilitation of tax training sessions
  • Identify risks and opportunities, supporting Danske Bank units in tax risk analysis and assessment.

Who are we looking for?

We're seeking a curious and outgoing team player with a solid tax legal education, such as Cand.jur or Cand.merc.jur, preferably with experience in the financial sector. You like to work in a dynamic and international environment and across countries, to explore business processes with curiosity and most importantly; to assume responsibility and to drive and solve your tasks.

  • Experience in HR tax is significant in providing advisory services related to relocations, business travellers, benefits taxation, payroll reporting, and social security.
  • Solid sense of quality and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills in Danish and English
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
