We are currently looking for a motivated Associate to our Energy Transition Fund, Portfolio Management Team in CIP, based in our headquarters in Copenhagen.
The Team
The Energy Transition Fund (ETF) invests globally in large scale Power-To-X (PtX) projects across technologies such as clean hydrogen, clean ammonia, carbon capture and storage (CCS) and supporting renewable energy assets including wind and solar, etc. The Portfolio Management team is responsible for owning, forecasting, reporting, and communicating fund and portfolio economics.
Working closely with the fund leadership (partner group), the team delivers high-quality decision-making materials and strategic analyses grounded in financial modelling, data-driven insights, and a deep understanding of the fund’s investments and underlying business cases. The team collaborates with a broad range of stakeholders within the ETF platform and across the wider CIP organization and engages externally with the fund’s investors. The Energy Transition Fund has a total commitment from investors of EUR 3.1bn which makes it the largest dedicated clean hydrogen fund globally.
You will be contributing to the development, structuring, and execution of CIP’s next generation renewable energy infrastructure investments with a focus on Power-to-X assets, CCS, and supporting technologies to facilitate the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors and industries. You will be working closely together with a highly experienced team, based in Copenhagen, Hamburg, and New York, in a stimulating and truly global environment.
The Role
As an associate you will support the strategy and decision making by building and maintaining financial models to forecast cash flows, commitments, returns and other financial KPI’s. In addition, you will also prepare high-quality reporting and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders, and work closely with investment teams to assess the fund-level impact of new and existing projects.

We are therefore looking for a motivated, collaborative, and experienced professional holding a relevant master’s degree within Economics, Finance, Law, Business, Engineering, or other related fields and 1-5 years of work experience in a similar position.

- Financial modelling, valuation, and structuring of the total fund portfolio and projects
- Working with internal and external advisors and partners, including legal, financial, and technical to execute investments
- Development of analysis and high-quality presentations for internal decision makers and external stakeholders
- Mentor analysts and secure the quality of their deliverables

Key qualifications include:
- Proficient quantitative and analytical skills and very high attention to detail
- Solid corporate finance and financial modelling experience
- Ability to organize workload efficiently while still being someone who works effectively with others with the confidence to exercise judgment appropriately, engaging with colleagues at all levels of seniority
- High level of written and oral communication abilities in English
- Ability to work well in a time-sensitive setting and manage tasks effectively
- Substantial experience with Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with energy or infrastructure is an advantage
