Senior Specialist Packaging Processes

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Packaging Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for the development, testing, and approval of new cost-effective packaging solutions in collaboration with BD/Sales, customers, Supply Chain Management, and Procurement. You will also contribute to the selection, testing, and implementation of external co-pack suppliers.

About the Department: Global Operations Development includes Engineering, Automation and Packaging as well as the Process and Qualification Team. The department is responsible for executing Fertin’s major technology projects (CAPEX) in both the pharma and non-pharma factories. The position of Senior Packaging Specialist belongs to the department’s Packaging group, which also includes technical specialists in packaging equipment.

Primary Tasks:

• Development, testing, and approval of new cost-effective packaging solutions in collaboration with BD/Sales, SCM, and Procurement, including ensuring a structured development and implementation process.

• Participation as a packaging specialist in CAPEX investment projects, with responsibility for packaging and packing processes handling fragile products, including participation in FAT, SAT, and commissioning/qualification activities.

• Ensuring technical clarification in connection with customer inquiries in collaboration with project managers, including contributing to investment calculations.

• Contributing to the selection, testing, and implementation of external co-pack suppliers.

Secondary Tasks:

• Participation as a packaging specialist in relevant internal and external customer meetings as well as customer and regulatory inspections.

• Actively contributing to Fertin’s technology and productivity development, including participation in feasibility and optimization projects.

Qualifications:

• Educational background is not essential, but a solid understanding of GMP as well as qualification and validation is an advantage.

• Knowledge of plastic materials, including design possibilities, material and barrier properties, as well as labeling.

• Knowledge of cardboard.

• Experience with packaging and packing processes within the food or pharmaceutical industry.

• Experience with thermoforming, flow packaging, or other packaging processes.
