About The Department

The Utility team is part of Plant Engineering. Plant Engineering is responsible for manufacturing maintenance on production assets, metrology, utility operation, asset management, and compliance. With a strong service mindset, the teams provide reliable and professional support across the entire Copenhagen site.

The Utility team supports mission-critical infrastructure including cleanroom HVAC systems, purified water systems (HPW, PW/WFI), clean steam, compressed air, technical gases, and cooling systems. It consists of 12 experienced technicians and engineers who is organized in subgroups of HVAC, Automation and Utility – we work together to ensure the safe and stable operation of the two production facilities. The team combines deep knowledge with fresh perspectives and shares a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the utilities.

Work schedule and flexibility

Our facilities operate around the clock, which requires flexibility from the team. Most work is carried out during normal business hours, but occasional evening or weekend work may occur to maintain uninterrupted utility operations. To support the daily operations the team follows structured and transparent 24/7 on call-rotation which is planned in advance.

About The Role

You will join the HVAC subgroup which is formed by two technicians and an engineer. In the team. Together, you are responsible for the operation, compliance and continuous improvement of HVAC systems serving GMP production areas, laboratories, and cleanrooms. While the technicians focus is to handle scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, your role will be centered on ownership and performance of HVAC systems, performance of HVAC systems, risk mitigation, compliance assurance and stakeholder support across the Copenhagen Site.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain stable and compliant operation of HVAC systems serving GMP-classified areas, meeting internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation - P&IDs, SOPs, scheduled maintenance plans.
  • Lead root cause analysis on HVAC issues, followed by implementation of practical corrective actions.
  • Contribute to CAPEX and OPEX projects by providing operational input to projects, ensuring smooth execution and handover to operations.
  • Represent the Utility team during inspections and audits.
  • Own and manage HVAC-related CR, DEV and CAPAs.
  • Support validation actions and participate in technical investigations.

Focus Areas

  • Develop an internal HVAC "white book" by defining suppliers and standard components.
  • Establish a lifecycle structured overview on HVAC systems.
  • Establish a structured monitoring of HVAC system performance including warning and alarm handling.
  • Implement a consistent and well-documented HEPA filter change strategy across all relevant systems.
  • Drive improvements in system uptime and lifecycle planning.

About You

You are analytical, structured, and proactive. You take pride in delivering reliable and compliant technical solutions. You thrive in a regulated environment and understand the importance of documentation, traceability, systematic problem-solving and being accountable. You are motivated by ownership, and where no standard exists, you take initiative to create one. You have a collaborative mindset, enjoy cross-functional teamwork, and communicate clearly with operational and administrative stakeholders.

Ideally, you have a skilled trades background, such as automation technician or electrician, and have later supplemented it with an engineering degree, Marine Engineer or similar technical education.

You Are Also

  • Experienced with GxP-regulated environments.
  • Understanding the challenges in transitioning from project to operations.
  • Resilient and fact-focused during inspections and audits.
  • Familiar with lean principles and structured problem-solving (e.g., A3, 5 Whys, fishbone)
