The Senior Software Engineer role supports this by delivering high-quality software solutions that empower developers and content creators to build interactive LEGO experiences efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain modular, testable, deployable, and easy-to-maintain software solutions for interactive LEGO products using a diverse tech stack containing C# .NET, AvaloniaUI, and Python to name a few.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create tools that support developers and interaction designers in creating tech-enabled LEGO experiences, considering UX/UI as important qualities.
- Ensure high software quality through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration, with a strong emphasis on unit testing, while being comfortable with context switching between projects.
- Support the automation of pipelines and toolchain development to improve developer efficiency and quality of life, balancing between perfecting software and making rapid delivery.
- Engage in architectural discussions to drive innovation and technical excellence, making loosely coupled IT solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and best practices, and fostering an environment eager to teach, learn, and experiment with an agile mindset.
- Embrace the "You build it, you run it, you own it" philosophy, ensuring ownership and accountability for the software developed.
- Extensive experience in software development with C# .NET, with a proven ability to optimize software for performance and scalability.
- Ability to engage in architectural discussions to drive innovation and technical excellence, seeing the red line across a tool portfolio and putting it into a system.
- Experience with Git and Git actions, and a strong understanding of security and data privacy.
- Demonstrated experience in automating development pipelines and improving developer toolchains, with knowledge of Docker.
- Comfortable working with cloud endpoints and backend integration.
- Hands-on experience with Unity 3D and interactive application development.
- Experience working with audio synthesisers.
- Familiarity with cloud services and backend integration.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python for automation tasks.
