Job Description
We are looking for an IT Engineer to be part of crafting the future for Edge Computing in The LEGO Group.
We are pushing the bar for what is possible. As we strive to build highly scalable and robust Software-Defined Data Centers. To support our need for compute and storage at our distributed Edge locations - and we like to have fun along the way!
Core Responsibilities
The new engineer in our team, Compute Anywhere will take part in the transformation from our current separately offered platforms and services to a cloud like experience, where on-prem platforms and services are presented in a portal with focus on self-service.

The team is a core team for the LEGO Group, providing foundational capabilities for our manufacturing space. We are supporting hundreds of LEGO engineers who require low latency, on-premises compute power and storage of data. We are guides in running in-house data centers combined with cloud services where virtualization, automation and self-service are key drivers. We build a DevOps experience at the hardware level applying vendor provided management tools combined with the offering of services to other product teams through a self-service portal and access to data through APIs and a data intelligence portal.
We are an international team; our work language is English. We are based at the new LEGO Campus in Billund. The work environment is exciting, inspiring, and flexible.
Do you have what it takes?
The preferred candidate has a few years of experience in providing IT services to customers or colleagues and DevOps knowledge in a role as Site Reliability Engineer, Software developer or similar role. Automation and user self-service approach with experience in crafting API’s (REST, etc.) and self-service offerings, and can develop small applications or plugins using Java Script, Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.
Familiarity working in an agile setup is encouraged.

- Develop, operate, and maintain API’s, Plugins, dashboards, and other customer-faced services for our on-prem hosting services regarding compute, storage, and disaster recovery.
- Strengthening engineering excellence within the team, improving our enterprise-level platforms that the LEGO Group engineering community can build their business on.
- Participate in automation activities and AI integration.
- Be a part of maintaining our existing setup by handling incidents
- Monitoring and observability - Make metrics available to peers.

- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent experience.
- Experience in maintaining a hypervisor e.g. VMware, perhaps also operating and developing infrastructure and services in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure or GCP).
- Understanding of application and service delivery, hybrid/multi-cloud market context, and cloud service and infrastructure platform operations.
- You have a learning mentality, keep up to date with technology trends by for example taking new courses, networking, and attending conferences - and learning on the job while solving tasks.
