Rockfon is no.1 brand in Europe in acoustic ceilings segment. We are part of the ROCKWOOL Group.

Over more than 60 years, our purpose has been to make our world a better place with a broad range of acoustic solutions for schools, offices, hospitals and entertainment venues.

We specialise in providing a complete solution that covers suspended ceilings, walls and zoning applications for passive noise management, visual comfort and biophilic experience in a built environment.

Our proud employees offer their deep know-how and high level of support to various stakeholders across the value chain - architects, interior designers, acousticians, contractors and distributors – to realize our solutions.

Our factories continue to drive down our carbon footprint and we leverage wide footprint of Rockwool insulation companies to secure closed-looping recycling of our stonewool based products. Furthermore, we are on a solid path to decarbonize our production footprint while we are already best or second best in serval ceiling applications when it comes to carbon footprint.

We are present in 25 countries and represent 50+ nationalities. Our HQ is based in Hedehusene (30KM/ 30 min from Copenhagen).

The role

We are looking for our new Marketing Director as part of the management team of Rockfon, in direct reference to the Managing Director.

You will be responsible for setting the brand & marketing strategy, trend analysis and supporting development of overall OPCO strategy, shaping online and offline customer experiences through various touchpoints, and delivering high ROI programs in line with our strategy and customer needs.

You will be our face towards external agencies and ROCKWOOL group services; and drive those relationships with a clearly laid our ways of working and marketing plan(s) behind it. Lastly you will also a visible person on various PR and marketing events to position Rockfon as an innovative and sustainable brand in the building industry.

All central marketing sub-functions report to the marketing director, and all local marketing managers and product manager reporting indirectly. The ratio of direct to indirect is 50 :50. You will play a critical role in giving overall strategic direction to both direct and indirect reports, furthermore, you will be also responsible for securing they are hired with the right skills, and they continue to develop new ones in line with business requirements.

Our marketing director should be someone who has empathy for subjects like building architecture, occupant comfort and sustainability.

You should be able inspire a team and influence without authority. To be successful it is also key to make tough choices and engage others with clear communication, interpersonal relationship and a fact-based approach.

We imagine that you have the following experiences, acquired in a B2B context :

  • Strategy, market insights and product requirement generation
  • Short & long-term marketing plan creation, prioritization and delivery
  • Well conversant with Lean start-up, Agile and NPDL/NPI tools & processes
  • Rich experience with web, social media, CRM, marketing automation, content management, lean start-up methods, and growth hacking tools – preferably acquired in B2B business
  • Channel marketing for more traditional channels (such as distributors and contractors)
  • Value based pricing, marketing finance (e.g. innovation accounting, ROI) and data analytics
  • People leadership (brand & marcom, digital, and country marketing)
  • Stakeholder management to leverage supporting functions


Hiring process

  • Application deadline mid-July, interviews during Aug, offer during Sept, start date depending on availability of the right candidate
  • Please expect 1 screening interview, 1-2 peer interviews, 2 hiring manager and 2 management board interviews; furthermore, 2 external assessments which includes DISC profile to assess fit with the organization and management team
