Job Description
Position Summary:
The Manager Clinical Operations supports the Country Head in shaping and managing the local organizational structure to ensure optimal efficiency and demonstrates effective issue management in solid oncology.
This individual is responsible for the line management of Local Trial Managers (LTM), Site Managers (SM), Clinical Trial Assistants (CTA), and/or other Global Clinical Operations (GCO) staff, as required.
They oversee staff performance, development, training, project assignments, and workload distribution, while also supporting issue resolution with direct reports. Furthermore, it is essential for the Manager to ensure that local goals align with organizational objectives.
Principal Responsibilities
The role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the solid oncology indication, which includes not only deep therapeutic knowledge and health care insight but also familiarity with patient demographics and their specific needs. This entails understanding the characteristics of patient populations being served, such as age, gender, ethnicity, socio-economic factors, and co-morbid conditions that may affect treatment pathways.
Additionally, the Manager must be aware of the structure of care within the solid oncology indication. This includes knowledge of healthcare systems, treatments (standard of Care) competitors’ clinical trial, and the roles of various healthcare professionals involved in patient care. Establishing robust networks with oncologist, urologists in the solid oncology indication is critical to facilitating effective collaborations and enhancing patient recruitment for clinical trials.
This knowledge is also critical to be able to attract solid oncology indication trials to the Nordic region.
Such insights enable the Manager to drive innovative solutions and process improvements tailored to solid oncology addressing both the complexities of patient care and clinical trial execution within that context.
Ultimately, this knowledge supports the overarching goals of GCO and Global Development (GD) by fostering better patient outcomes and more efficient trial operations within solid oncology indications.
The Manager Clinical Operations ensures that local goals align with organizational objectives, drives innovative solutions, and process improvements tailored to solid oncology. This multifaceted approach facilitates effective clinical trial execution while improving patient outcomes across Solid Tumors indication, contributing to the overall success of GCO and Global Development (GD).

Education And Experience Requirements
- Have detailed knowledge of various types of solid tumors, their treatment options, and emerging therapies such as immuno-oncology.
- Understand the demographics and unique challenges associated with cancer patients, including their treatment trajectories and support needs.
- Collaborate with oncologists and cancer centers to facilitate patient recruitment and adherence to clinical trial protocols while considering the multidisciplinary nature of cancer care.
- Proven experience in the solid oncology area for a minimum of 5 years.
