Job Overview
Responsible for the detailed execution of the Production Plan for a Production area in terms of materials, production orders and all relevant ERP issues. This role is a critical link between Global Planning and Local Production.
Primary Responsibilities
Work with Global Planning (direct reporting line) to execute the MRP cycle, and validate MRP Proposals. Maintains Production Planning to execute MRP proposals. Local systems super-user in with regard to items, production and orders. Ensures system data is completed to meet the needs of the Operational area. Keeps Production Order due dates updated. Maintains close interaction with customer support and production for re-scheduling and timely customer information. Ensures that schedule changes are clearly communicated to procurement, sales administration, engineering and manufacturing to align internal and external deliveries with floor dates. Reviews major component deliveries to identify potential schedule impacts. Assists with continuous improvement efforts related to the overall planning process. Investigates anomalies from stock count.
KEY INTERACTIONS
In planning, interfacing with production and Purchasing, Warehouse and Engineering. As a point of contact with sales admin and customer support concerning delivery schedules.
LEADERSHIP EXPECTATIONS
Manages within own team. Managing team goals, objectives and KPIs. Managed own priorities and initiatives. Works within policy and monitors policy. Responsible for own competencies and addresses any gaps in capability.
Qualifications Required
Technical education or education in production planning and control
Skills & Knowledge Required
Use of Production planning and ERP systems tools. IT Skills: Microsoft office applications including e-mail. Good communication skills. Adept at establishing trusting relationships with peers. Good logical thinking. Process orientated. Hands on and pro-active.
Experience Required
Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a manufacturing organisation. Experience of working with a business-wide ERP system, Microsoft D365 preferred. Basic knowledge of ERP systems work, in particular MRP and Production related activities. Experience in assembly type production. Working understanding of “Lean” production methodology.
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS
Up 5 % annually.
Additional Requirements
Must be able to read English capably, spoken English an advantage.
