Mid level scientist who has demonstrated and continues to demonstrate the ability to

solutions that are adopted to solve relevant problems. Increasingly recognized for
emerging team leadership and expertise in driving R&D projects to add value to IFF.
The selected candidate will:
- Be an integral part of a diverse global team of scientists and application specialists who together will charter an R&D project to develop and implement solutions for reduction of emissions from ruminants.
- Establish in vitro lab models, which reflect the functionality in the animal on a molecular level.
- Establish and perform enzyme assays. Biochemical characterisation of new enzyme candidates including their performance in rumen fluid.
- Work directly on application of primarily enzymes to reduce emissions from ruminants.
- Read literature, including patent literature to identify new opportunities for developing new IFF ingredients into the ruminant industry focusing on reducing emissions.
- Work with collaborative teams in an industrial R&D environment that values creativity and ingenuity.
- Independently establish and manage internal and external collaborations with respect for professional and cultural differences to advance project goals. This will include working with CROs and academic collaborators.
- Perform as an entrepreneur with a creative mind and the dedication needed for aiming at scientific excellence.
- Review data and analytical results, prepare reports and visuals and communicate them to internal and external users, including customers.
- Maintain an up-to-date awareness of all R&D activities in the area through literature review and industry and academic networking.
- Ph.D. in biochemistry or related subject with 3–6-year research experience, preferably in an industry research lab.
- Preferably experience with ruminants. Oxidative enzyme reactions. Methane mitigation. Enzyme development work or related scientific field. Basic understanding of rumen microbiology.
- Motivated to play a role in developing new products for more sustainable ruminant production.
- Interested in understanding the functionality of methane production and emission in ruminants.
- Demonstrated innovative and creative skills in the way to achieve a set goal.
- Shows creative and original thinking in developing innovative solutions for the livestock industry (preferably for ruminants).
- Methodical, systematic, and accurate approach, with attention to detail and able to achieve deadlines with complex or new issues.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels, externally and internally, including good presentation skills, reports, and scientific writing.
- Able to link customer value to product specification or product supporting service to be developed.
- Working level understanding of statistics.
- Passion at bench. Demonstrated ability to start new research area up.
- Capable of working under pressure.
- Team player and self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills on all hierarchy levels.
- Good writing and presentation skills. Ability to engage an audience.
- Innovative, positive, and creative in the way to develop solutions and achieve a set goal.
