Key Responsibilities



  • Act as the strategic bridge between creative exploration and business growth, ensuring that innovation connects clearly to long-term goals and consumer opportunities.
  • Act as strategic partner for mission leads and capability heads to inspire and activate multidisciplinary creative teams, helping them explore with clarity and purpose, without constraining their imagination.
  • Translate future trends, insights, and macro shifts into clear, inspiring opportunity spaces and strategic platforms for creative play innovation.
  • Develop and drive decision-making frameworks, innovation strategies, and pathways, enabling teams to navigate ambiguity while staying open to emergent value.
  • Build structure from ambiguity, providing flexible models and roadmaps that evolve as creative discovery unfolds.
  • Serve as a trusted partner and thought leader, building credibility and rapport with mission leads, capability heads, creatives, designers, researchers, and senior business leaders alike.
  • Ensure the consumer is at the heart of innovation, synthesizing insights into actionable strategic direction without shutting down curiosity or possibility.
  • Facilitate alignment and forward momentum, helping teams make smart trade-offs, prioritize effectively, and remain accountable to business outcomes.

The Creative Play Lab is The LEGO Group’s innovation department, tasked with inventing the future of LEGO play! The Strategic Play Innovation team is there to help supercharge innovation efforts, helping teams move faster, with more confidence, focus and impact.

As part of this team, the Senior Innovation Strategist, Creative Enablement will serve as a pivotal link between business success and consumer value through supporting and guiding the creative development of innovative and lasting play experiences. This role is for a rare kind of strategist one who thrives on creative complexity, uses strategic insight to inspire without dictating, and builds clarity without constraining innovation.

You’ll help unleash the full potential of our creative teams by translating future trends, consumer insights, and business priorities into inspiring creative territories aligned with CPL and mission objectives. Through your work, creative talent will be motivated and inspired to explore with purpose, and innovation will be driven with clear intent, enabling TLG to shape the future of play in ways that are both meaningful and commercially impactful.

This is not a conventional strategy role. It requires deep understanding and appreciation for the creative process, the courage to deal with ambiguity, and the agility to move between shaping blue-sky futures and building actionable frameworks that can drive tangible business impact.

Do you have what it takes?



  • Significant experience in strategic innovation, creative strategy, or experience strategy, ideally within a creative-led or innovation-focused organization.
  • Proven ability to translate complex insights, data, and trends into strategic opportunities that inspire creative exploration and business relevance.
  • Deep understanding of and empathy for creative minds, including how to inspire, challenge, and guide them without compromising their autonomy.
  • Strong facilitation, storytelling, and communication skills, with the ability to engage both analytical and imaginative thinkers.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, agility in fast-evolving environments, and a proactive attitude toward shaping the unknown.
  • Experience managing or influencing cross-functional teams, building trust and respect across a wide range of personality types and disciplines.
  • Analytical rigor, with the ability to use data, insight, and foresight to shape future-oriented strategies.
  • A passion for the future of play, design, or innovation with a relentless curiosity for where culture, creativity, and commerce intersect.
  • Experience working within or alongside product design, toy innovation, entertainment, gaming, or adjacent play-related industries.
  • Knowledge of child development, behavioral psychology, or education principles as they relate to play and creativity.
  • Familiarity with futures thinking, speculative design, or scenario planning methods.
  • Background in creative direction, design strategy, or working closely with R&D or creative studios.
  • Experience working in global or matrixed organizations, navigating multiple stakeholder perspectives and cultural contexts.
