Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated standardization research specialist to contribute to the development and standardization of next-generation radio communication technologies, specifically focusing on 6G. This role requires a strong background in radio communications, system-level simulations, and the application of AI/ML techniques to radio access networks. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping Nokia's intellectual property portfolio and influencing the direction of future 3GPP standards.

We are seeking a highly motivated standardization research specialist to contribute to the development and standardization of next-generation radio communication technologies, specifically focusing on 6G. This role requires a strong background in radio communications, system-level simulations, and the application of AI/ML techniques to radio access networks. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping Nokia's intellectual property portfolio and influencing the direction of future 3GPP standards.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Develop innovative concepts and solutions for 6G radio access networks and rigorously assess their performance through system-level simulations.
- Create high-quality intellectual property (IPR) and actively contribute to strengthening Nokia's IPR portfolio.
- Actively participate in and contribute to standardization fora such as 3GPP, promoting Nokia's innovative concepts and solutions and ensuring their incorporation into standard specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, internal customers, and external stakeholders to align research goals and deliverables.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong system-level understanding of radio communications principles, with experience in 5G and/or LTE technologies.
- Proven experience in system-level simulations of radio access networks.
- Proficient in C++ and/or TensorFlow.
- Experience in applying AI/ML techniques to radio communication systems.
- Ability to conduct independent research while effectively collaborating within a team environment.
- Demonstrated adaptability and creativity in handling evolving research goals influenced by external factors, such as standardization meeting outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A positive and collaborative attitude, contributing to a supportive and inclusive work environment.
- In-depth knowledge of 3GPP specifications and standardization processes.
- A strong track record of research contributions, evidenced by publications, patent applications, or other forms of documented impact.
