We operate globally, supporting projects located in Asia, North America and Northern Europe. We currently employ a staff of over 180, most based in the UK and Denmark but also in offices in Taiwan, Japan, Poland and the USA with a continued growth foreseen in the near future.
We are now searching for a highly capable Senior Software Specialist in our Software and Tools Development Team. As a Senior Software Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our in-house software packages, as well as interfaces to other engineering tools. Innovation through automation is at the core of how we work, so you should have the ambition to push boundaries and build smarter, faster workflows. Your work will directly impact the performance, accuracy, and usability of our in-house tools used by our engineers. This role is open in Denmark and our offices within this region are Copenhagen, Vejle, and Aarhus.

Areas of Responsibility:
Software Development
- Design, develop, and maintain engineering software tools using MATLAB and Python, focusing on numerical methods, scientific computing, and optimization.
- Develop and integrate algorithms to support advanced simulation and data analysis.
- Develop automated workflows and associated documentation, e.g. parameterized LaTeX reports as well as result visualization (model exchange via web interfaces)
- Build and implement DevOps/ CICD pipelines to streamline software development and deployment.
- Contribute to scaling and maintaining our in-house HPC cluster using Docker, Kubernetes, and HTCondor, with potential cloud integration.
- Work closely with IT to ensure software infrastructure and deployment environments are aligned and fully supported.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to engineering teams using our tools.
- Integrate AI/ML capabilities, including Large Language Models (LLMs), into workflows to enhance decision-making and process automation.
- Develop interfaces with SQL and PostgreSQL databases for efficient data management and system integration.
Required:
- MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong proficiency in MATLAB and Python, particularly for numerical modelling and scientific computing.
- Experience with Git/GitHub for version control, automated workflows, and collaborative software development.
- Understanding of CICD practices and DevOps principles.
- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI tools and working knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI or Hugging Face.
- Experience with LaTeX for typesetting
- Experience working with both SQL and PostgreSQL databases.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and technical disciplines.
