We are looking for an experienced Construction Automation Engineer

A Principal Construction Automation Engineer plans and performs work requiring sound engineering judgment in the evaluation, organization, and execution of assignments. This position is considered an expert on construction automation tools and provides construction automation support and technical advice for projects. Implements and coordinates the execution of construction automation activities on Fluor projects worldwide. This position may act as the regional or office construction automation lead.

  • Provide technical configuration and coordination of the support for construction systems
  • Communicate the data integration requirements between construction systems
  • Stay current on research dealing with construction automation technologies and supported construction work practices with the ability to apply knowledge gained
  • Work with the project information manager (PIM) to ensure that all project construction automation requirements for the proposal and/or project are met
  • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and sixteen (16) years of work-related experience; a recognized certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of project construction work processes either through project experience or training with specific knowledge regarding the interaction and exchange of knowledge between engineering disciplines, construction, vendors, contractors, and clients
  • Overall knowledge of MasterPlant Solutions
  • Overall knowledge of the supported tool capability and construction work process integration requirements
  • Ability to speak/read multiple languages
  • Ability to collaborate and adapt to changing conditions
  • Possess problem solving, organizational, and conflict resolution skills
  • Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
