The Operations Test Development Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing testing procedures to ensure the quality and performance of Teradyne Robotics products. This role involves working closely with design engineers, product managers, manufacturing engineers and quality assurance teams as well as external suppliers to create effective and efficient test plans, develop automated testing equipment and relevant scripts for production, analyze test results to identify issues and ensure products meet customer requirements and industry standards.

The Operations Test Development Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing testing procedures to ensure the quality and performance of Teradyne Robotics products. This role involves working closely with design engineers, product managers, manufacturing engineers and quality assurance teams as well as external suppliers to create effective and efficient test plans, develop automated testing equipment and relevant scripts for production, analyze test results to identify issues and ensure products meet customer requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop test plans and test cases based on product
- Design and develop automated test scripts using appropriate tools and languages (e.g., Python, C#).
- Create and maintain test environments to simulate real-world scenarios and conditions.
- Develop test fixtures and test setups for hardware products.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
- Document test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test results.
- Work closely with development, QA, and product teams to ensure alignment on testing goals and product quality standards.
- Participate in design and code reviews to provide testability feedback.
We imagine you have the following experience and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in product or test development, quality assurance, or a related engineering role
- Deep understanding of PCB, Electromechanical testing methodologies
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C#.
- Experience with Data Analysis and Statistical Process Control Methods
- Familiarity with hardware testing at multiple levels from PCBA up through System Level Test. PCBA Testing includes Automated Inspection methods, In-Circuit Test and Functional Test
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions
- Knowledge of embedded systems and firmware testing
- Familiarity with ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems
- Knowledge of robotics technology, manufacturing processes and industry standards/regulations
- Project management
- Basic EMC understanding
