Core Responsibilities
As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will develop new LEGO novelty bricks by bridge-building design innovation with technical feasibility. More specifically, you will
In the Novelty Element Development (NED) team, we develop the LEGO elements of tomorrow in close and strong collaboration with our main internal stakeholders and partners. By knowing the capabilities of the moulding and processing platforms, we mature and develop the element design into manufacturable LEGO bricks ready for mass production.
The development of new elements comes by requests from novelty projects. This role’s primary task is to contribute with technical expertise in close collaboration with design and marketing as well as Technical Mould Development and Equipment Development.
Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate has either minimum a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Robust Design and Manufacturing or equivalent engineering field – otherwise comes with a hands-on technical background with proven product development experience. In addition, you have

Core Responsibilities
As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will develop new LEGO novelty bricks by bridge-building design innovation with technical feasibility. More specifically, you will
- Develop technical designs of new LEGO bricks and ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Deliver 3D CAD files and specifications covering new LEGO bricks.
- Interpret and implement current quality standards with focus on functions, building systems and product safety. When needed, challenge status quo to secure a high quality level of deliverables.
- Test prototypes and verify material choices, function of elements and product safety.
- Contribute with knowledge sharing across the Novelty Element Development (NED) teams and main organizational partners. In this way, be a role model that is actively supporting a strong learning environment.
- Establish a strong understanding of the LEGO value chain from Product & Marketing Development (PMD) and Elements & Moulds (E&M) to the production line.

- 5+ years of experience with product development, quality assurance and 3D CAD systems, preferably Siemens NX.
- 5+ years of experience within mechanical and structural design and, preferably plastic materials and moulding technology.
- Solid knowledge about variation, tolerance design, robust design principles and basic statistics.
- Strong Project Management skills, global mindset and ability of creating strong relations with diverse stakeholders.
- Structured and result-oriented work approach, lots of curiosity and eagerness to “succeed together”.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
