Then you might be exactly the new Logistic Manager we are looking for!
To lead the Logistics area for our operations in Skjern focusing on our accessories product portfolio (shutters, blinds, electronics etc.) we are looking for an experienced new colleague to join us as Logistics Manager. As Logistics Manager, you will head a team of 12 specialists skilled in logistics planning and optimization, procurement scheduling, global supply chain coordination and SAP, as well as a Warehouse Manager leading a team of 15 employees in manufacturing warehousing. You will report directly to the General Manager of our Skjern operations while also being part of the Global Logistics community in VELUX. Furthermore, you will be an integral part of the Local Management Team.
About The Job
As Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for all logistics activities all the way from ensuring availability of materials for production to striking an optimal inventory turnover rate. This includes supply to flow line & manufacturing warehouse as well as production planning and procurement in the factory. Moreover, you will set up targets and ensure that cost of logistics is tracked correctly and optimized continuously in close collaboration with production.
Your primary tasks will be to:
We imagine that you hold a Master’s degree in operations management, logistics, supply chain or similarly relevant topic, which has provided you with the tools and processes to work systematically, methodically and analytically. Moreover, you are highly proficient in the disciplines of planning and procurement scheduling while experienced in taking a holistic perspective on logistics management, and you bring several years of people management experience from a logistics management role in a large, order producing manufacturing company. You know how to create the most optimal flow end-to-end from supplier through production to end customer, and you have insights into warehousing, more specifically how to utilize the space in the most optimal way.
You are well-versed in the disciplines of leadership incl. people management and you are known for your ability to build trusting and lasting relationships. You bring some experience in facilitating and managing complex change processes, including the potential resistance that changes may cause. As the proficient communicator that you are, you are adept at communicating a clear and compelling purpose, and with your commitment to having a positive influence on others, you empower people to make decisions and take responsibility.

About The Job

Your primary tasks will be to:
- Supervise, motivate, guide and set direction for the Logistics team
- Create the work environment and conditions for your team to thrive, develop and perform
- Act as sparring partner to your team and promote team coherence and collaboration
- Ensure that VELUX standards for production planning, procurement and logistics processes are implemented and followed and work for high process compliance and automation
- Ensure performance through KPIs and follow-ups (Delivery Performance, Inventory, Lead time, Replanning’s, Compliance etc.)
- Coordinate daily production planning and procurement and if necessary, ensure escalation of problems and problem solving together with related systems (PCo’s, Supply Chain Planning & Logistics, Direct Procurement etc.)
- Challenge and define the production planning and material flow setup and identify and drive related key logistics activities in close dialog with relevant parties – internally and externally
- Secure efficient warehouse operations and optimized supply to line flows
- Validate and update master data which supports cost efficient logistics
- Secure that local logistics activities are in line with global logistics strategy
- Participate in global activities in Supply Chain Planning & Logistics
