Senior Specialist, Computational Simulation Modelling
KK Wind Solutions

As Senior Specialist in Computational Simulation Modelling (CSM) in the Front-End Innovation team, you’ll apply advanced simulation methods to drive radical innovation in renewable power electronics—developing solutions new to KKWS and the broader high-power electronics industry.
You will be the leading expert in KKWS on simulation model development and application, covering fluid dynamics, thermal systems, and electro-mechanical (flux) behaviour. Using tools such as Simcenter Star-CCM+, you will develop, run, and analyse complex simulations that validate new concepts and guide early-stage design decisions. You insist to plan and oversee tests and validations of your simulation models predictions in real practical mock-ups and applications.
This role is critical to the early phases of product development, where agility, creativity, and technical rigor are key. You will collaborate across a globally distributed, cross-functional team of top-tier specialists in AI, power electronics, and electro-mechanical and electromagnetic design.
You will act both as an individual contributor and a thought leader—influencing direction, coaching peers, and occasionally communicating with senior leadership on strategically significant matters.
Our culture values curiosity, courage, and playfulness. Inspired by John Cleese’s take on creativity, we believe sharp minds, honest dialogue, and a good laugh fuel real innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Defining goals and requirements together with product managers, engineers, designers, and specialists.
- Contributing CFD insights during early ideation and translating concepts into simulation models.
- Running feasibility simulations to evaluate design viability and identify challenges.
- Providing clear technical recommendations based on simulation results.
- Developing and validating proof of concept and proof of technology through CFD modelling.
- Creating detailed reports summarizing simulation methods, results, and conclusions.
- Continuously improving simulation workflows for accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
- Exploring advanced simulation tools and methodologies to enhance capabilities.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, thermal, fluid, software).
- Supporting the development of intuitive simulation setup and result visualization tools.
Qualifications:
- Fluent in Danish (native level) and English, with excellent communication skills.
- Master’s degree (or higher) in Fluid Mechanics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; PhD is a plus.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with CFD simulations, supported by a strong project portfolio.
- Experience working in early-stage product development and ideation processes.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) for geometry handling and preparation.
- Strong grasp of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, electromagnetics, and numerical methods.
- Skilled at translating complex engineering problems into clear, effective simulation strategies.
- Comfortable letting go of ideas and improving concepts through rapid iteration cycles.
- Self-driven, curious, and proactive in learning and applying new tools and technologies.
- Collaborative and open-minded, with a global outlook and eagerness to build knowledge networks.
How to apply:
If you are an ambitious and experienced specialist with a strong background in advanced simulation and a passion for driving innovation in a critical technology area, we encourage you to apply. Join us in shaping the future of renewable power electronics through cutting-edge simulation and early-stage design. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
