IT-Application Manager

As the Application Manager you will take the responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the applications related to Sales & Customer Service and will work closely with the rest of the IT-department in Denmark and other countries in the group, with developers, Product Owners, the business/organisation and customers that use the applications.
You will deliver demand specifications in connection with upgrades, new functionalities as well as oversee the planning, timeline and cost of deployment of a family of new applications in the area within the coming years.
Your manager will be the IT-director and one of the most important success criteria, will be your ability to manage and relate to different stakeholders, upholding strong relationships and communication.
The most important professional competence we are looking for in this role, is relevant experience within application management: Operation and maintenance of applications, preferably also with development of company specific applications. You should have around five years of relevant experience, being part of IT-projects, preferably as an Application Manager, Product Owner, Application Consultant or similar. You could have come from the business side, from e.g. a commercial organisation, having learned about the technical side of IT later - or you could come from an IT-development position, learning the business side later. Relevant experience includes working, not only with standard systems, but also with development projects (agile, Java, databases) or management of specific business applications. Expected traveling will be approximately a couple of days pr. months in Europe.
Having worked in an international environment and / or having worked with multiple stakeholders, across different cultures / countries, being able to make ends meet in the solutions, will be an advantage.
You also have:
- A very good general understanding of IT-system landscapes and a good basic technical IT-knowledge
- Experience in writing User stories (specifications)
- Experience in application testing
- Strong understanding of the intersection between technology and business needs.
- Good user skills in power point and excel
- English, at negotiation level is necessary
- Speaking and writing Danish is an advantage
Education: An IT-related / technical education with some kind of commercial angle or a business overlap is a relevant educational background. Another possibility is to come with a more business oriented educational background, from the business side, a commercial or economic education and having worked your way into the IT-positions.
As a person you are open minded and adaptable, willing to balance different needs and cultural backgrounds. You work in a structured manner, and it is easy for you to make good relations with other stakeholders internally or externally.
