The Legal Team - At a Glance
The legal department at European Energy consists of 19 lawyers. We are an international team with a solid skill set within corporate law, construction law, real property law, M&A, finance transactions, partnership agreements and commercial contracts. We advise the European Energy organization about all legal and contractual aspects related to the development, acquisition, financing, construction, and divestment of large scale wind and solar projects.
The Role - Accelerate Your Legal Career in Renewable Energy
We are looking for a Corporate Lawyer who is eager to build strong legal and commercial skills within financing transactions, partnerships, and capital structures, all within the renewable energy sector.
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with legal workstreams that are critical to the execution of renewable energy projects. You will support senior lawyers and business teams on structuring partnerships and capital investments, project financing, and the negotiation of commercial contracts. You will also assist in managing external counsel to ensure that legal advice remains practical, commercially aligned, and free from unnecessary complexity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the legal team in drafting and reviewing financing documentation, partnership agreements, joint venture arrangements and shareholder agreements
- Advise on legal and contractual aspects of the project development phase and the construction phase
- Conduct negotiations and handle legal processes and transactions
- Assist in the legal assessment of project risks, contract structures, and regulatory requirements across various jurisdictions
- Develop innovative contractual and structural solutions to mitigate risk or solve problems
- Assist in managing external counsel to ensure advice remains pragmatic and avoids unnecessary complexity
- Participate in negotiations and support legal workstreams for international renewable energy projects
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g. project development, M&A, and construction) to provide practical legal input
- Help design legal solutions to support scalable, bankable, and risk-mitigated project execution
Your Profile
- You are a qualified lawyer in the early stage of your career
- You enjoy working in a commercial, fast-paced environment and are comfortable managing multiple stakeholders
- You have excellent English skills, both written and spoken
- You are thorough, analytical, pragmatic, and solution-oriented, with a willingness to learn from senior colleagues
- You work well in teams and with all types of people regardless of their background
- You work independently and thrive with responsibility from day one
- You thrive in a team-based, international work environment
- Prior experience or exposure to financing transactions, partnerships, or energy projects is an advantage
