About the Group and team:
At Danske Bank, we are on a journey to transform how we work with data. Under the Forward 28 Strategy, we want to empower colleagues across the Group to make the most of the data they own. This will see a shift towards a federated data strategy, which is supported by the concept of data products.
The Data Product Centre of Excellence mission is to facilitate increased adoption of data products across Danske Bank. We champion applying the product mindset to data, to ensure that the data products created across the Group are of a high quality, valuable to meet strategic/customer needs and reusable.
Within the Data Product CoE, the Data Product Management cluster (which this role is part of) focuses on partnering with the business to enable adoption of data products by helping setting the standards on what good looks like and showcasing the art of possible in data product development.
The types of challenges this team will be working on in the near future include:
The Data Product Engineer will play a critical role in analysing and detailing data assets necessary for Danske Bank’s strategic initiatives. You will collaborate closely with selected business and IT units to deliver a consolidated view of the logical and physical data models, forming the backbone of shortlisted data products. Additionally, you will contribute to establishing modelling processes and guidelines for future use cases, supporting knowledge transfers and upskilling of data product teams during the design and implementation phases.
Job Context: In this role, you will be part of Data Products CoE that operates in a federated agile setup, a flat hierarchy and retains customer-focused approach. Your contributions will directly influence the bank's strategic initiatives and enhance customer satisfaction through the adoption of data products.

- Defining the enterprise-wide definition of what a data product is at Danske Bank
- Creating accelerators and templates to drive adoption and enablement to create data products for our partners in the business units
- Provide guidance and advice on technical design of data products which are prioritised for creation
- Supporting business units partners to design and bring to launch new data products.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead and refine the design stages of short-listed data products to ensure they align with business requirements and are technically viable.
- Collaborate with IT and business units to analyse and detail data assets for short-listed target data products.
- Develop and deliver a consolidated view of logical and physical data models as part of data contracts for short-listed data products.
- Utilize data modeling tools effectively to ensure quality, accuracy and reusability of data product models during development.
- Act as a key contributor to the development of modeling processes and documentation guidelines for future data product use cases.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of templates and step-by-step processes, establishing best practices within the field to be used by our organization.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst.
- Extensive experience in data modeling, data cleansing, ETL processes, and query performance optimization.
- Proficiency with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER Studio, and Oracle Designer.
- Experience in developing data solutions using Python and SQL.
- Strong experience with OLAP tools like Microsoft Analysis Services, Business Objects, and Crystal Reports.
- Degree in Data Engineering, Business Analysis, Programming, or a related field.
- Previous experience in financial industry or banking sector will be considered an advantage. Previous experience working with data products is also looked upon favourably.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
- Experience with ETL tools like Microsoft DTS/SSIS, SSRS, and Informatica is a plus.
- Database administration experience and familiarity with data engineering in Pyspark and SQL are advantageous.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages used in Danske Bank locations is a plus.
